I'm not one to really get into posting a lot about my family on here but I think this time it's needed.
My step-father was in an auto accident back in '02. He was paralyzed from the neck down. He uses a wheel chair with a chin operator on it so he can move around. Since then he has actually led a pretty "normal" and productive life. He is a member of our town council and is always out and about, weather permiting. Well last friday my wife came into my parents house and found my stepdad had thrown up all over himself. She cleaned him up and everything seemed normal, they were talking and so forth, he just said he had a bit of an upset stomach. Well minutes later she went back in just to check out him and he had had a seizure. He is still in ICU and can now speak but he can't see. The part that concerns me the most is that he's not concerned with his ability to see. Thats the only thing he has!!!! Everything isn't clicking in his brain right now for sure. The Dr told my mom yesterday that he is dying and his body is shutting down. I don't believe that for one second, his vitals are fine, his memory seems to be coming back and nothing is showing up on the cat scans. It's very bizarre!!! So if you could say a little prayer for my family, I'd greatly appreciate it!! I believe in the power of prayer and I think he still has a lot to give to us and the people that know him. I appreciate this forum letting me get this off my chest. It's been a rough week to say the least.

Some incouraging news from last night. He is responding better to everyone and he "claims" he can now see "shadows" and "shilouette's" (sp) of people. HOPEFULLY HOPEFULLY this is a great sign. Keep the thoughts and prayers coming!!!! I truely appreciate it!! You guys are the best!

Got some really encouraging news today. We stopped into visit today and he could see us!!!! How awesome and amazing. Things are still really blurry to him but he can see colors and can tell what certain things are. We are so blessed that he is turning around for the better!!!! He's not out of the woods yet but hopefully this a great sign of things to come!!!! Thanks to all of you that sent out a prayer!!!! Thats why this place will succeed, people like you!!!!! Great Community!!!
