My cousin can't make a decision between the two.

He's planning on majoring in Accounting.

I went to Miami for undergrad, so i'm rather biased, but was a history and classics double-major, so didn't have much experience with the business school.

I hear good things about Miami's business program as a whole, but don't know much about OU.

Any advice?

Miami University is full of rich, douchey, funboys from Cincinnati.

If I was choosing between the two, Ohio would win every time.

I would say Ohio. If he is going for anything in the business field, OU would be the better fit.

Also,

This. There are lots of hot, snobby rich girls too however.

I had more fun going to Athens to visit/party than I did in Oxford.

When he parties, does he prefer doing keg stands or drinking boxed wine?

You go to OU because an accounting degree is an accounting degree and you go to the cheaper place.

Besides, don't be responsible for your cousin joining a frat and popping his 3 collared shirts.

it's obvious from some of these posts that you're going to get biased opinions---IMO,I don't think he can go wrong with either school....btw, next time you may want to post this thread in the proper forum--unless,of course, you are posting this from Patrick J's :D

No, i was not in a frat, didn't touch the Greek scene at all. Wasn't a fan of it whatsoever. Lots of douches. Thankfully, though the Greek scene is large, THERE IS LIFE OUTSIDE OF IT.

The only reason i think he should go to Miami, i guess, is that it seemed as though lots of accounting folks had pretty good summer jobs/internships with some of the larger firms in Cincy, which then led to great job opportunities after graduation.

P.S.
Based on the feeling i get on these boards, i could possibly be one of the most hated individuals if we were only taking schooling into account.

Miami for undergrad, UofM for grad. :D

Haha, yep. :D Reid Hall was a good place, and Erickson was great. Still remember getting attacked by squirrels walking back to the dorm with food.

Both schools are fine. It really depends on what is the best fit for him, SE Ohio or SW Ohio.

Personally, if everyone is going to be biased here, I would throw UC into the discussion. UC's has a very fine accounting program. It has been ranked as one of the top ten undergraduate programs in the country. In addition, there are a lot of Fortune 500 companies in Cincinnati for him to work at after he gets his degree. What's more, at UC you can Co-Op at these businesses while your working on your degree. Finally, the tuition at UC is cheaper than both of those two schools.

Yep, i recommended UC because of the co-op program and the like, but he didn't want to be in a "big" city.

Not a great decision, IMO, because he's going to have to take out some loans, especially if he attends Miami, whereas he could have went to UC and saved a decent amount.

I was kind of thinking that as well. If he wants to maybe get internships in Cincinnati, why not just come to Cincinnati?

OR you could come to Xavier, pay a shit ton more money and receive the same exact education as the other 3 schools. Well, maybe not OU.

Miami not only has the best business school in Ohio, but it is starting to rival other schools nationally. Miami is a greater school over OU anyway.

If you want to go by stereotypes, if he goes to OU, he will just be dealing with a bunch of pot heads who have no ambition.

Miami's business school is definitely up toward one of the best, but Ohio's is solid as well. It's up there as one of the better programs we offer (obviously journalism gets the most recognition)

He can't go wrong at either place, it just depends on the atmosphere he wants.
