Florida #2 is over rated. 9 draft picks, 5 were juniors. They lost too many starters on defense, have a new DC, no Tebow, etc.

Landry Jones will be the QB. He gained valuable experience playing for an injured Sam Bradford last season. He will be a good QB. The strength of Oklahoma will be their running game with RB Demarco Murray and an experienced offensive line.Pick6 wrote: honest question...what does oklahoma even have this year?
Oklahoma has recruited about as much as talent as anyone in the country for the past five years or so (as evident by the last draft). People talk about how they lost four guys to the draft. What people forget is that two of the guys drafted this year were out with injuries last season. They return a lot of talent.

I don't know about that. I think the game will be a sell-out (or very close to a sell-out). UC brought 30,000 to the Sugar bowl last year and that was all the way in New Orleans. I am hearing from the folks in the atheletic department that UC is close to selling out seasons tickets for Nippert. I am sure those 35,000 will go to the Oklahoma game. What's more, season tickets holder of the Bengals have first dibs on their seats for this game. Plus, I am sure Oklahoma will bring in about 10,000 of their own fans. I think attendance for the game will be fine.CinciX12 wrote: I really don't think that the Oklahoma game will be a sell-out. I'm expecting about 45,000.
You know just as well as I do how retarded most in this city are. Will the majority even know that the game is at PBS? Granted I am contradicting myself by saying I'm going to my first UC game in 1.5 years, so maybe attendance will be good.
To piggyback off of what Goosebumps said, this UC squad could potentially be better than last season. Offensively, they have more weapons and when Collaros ran the offense last year, they did not skip a beat (in fact, in the UCONN game he set the Big East record for total offense). Defensively, Jones has not only installed the 4-3, he has brought up the level of physicality which was missing last season. I think people will be pleasantly surprised as to how much better the defense will be this season.

Danny have you heard how many student tickets they plan on selling for the game? I'd imagine it will be more than they sell for the games at Nippert.

Hey Gator, a little history lesson for. Back in 1996 I witnessed the worst beating in a football game I have ever seen in my life. Nebraska beat your Florida Gators (well not yours because you probably were rooting for OSU back then) 63-24 in the Fiesta Bowl. It was the biggest ass whipping I have ever seen. All three Nebraska running backs averaged seven yards a carry and the game was capped off with Tommie Frazier running over and through Florida defenders for 75 yards like they were 10 year old children. The score really does not do the game justice, it might as well have been been 163-0.TheMightyGators wrote: Cincy fans still supporting the team after what the Gators did to them?![]()
Btw, Florida fans still supported them afterwards.

awww....did you get your feelings hurt? Was it more by what I said or more about how bad the Gator embarrassed Cincinnait? That could have been 164-0 had Florida not been so nice.Little Danny wrote:Hey Gator, a little history lesson for. I was really just wondering if they were going to go back to supporting the team with those sweet 20,000 fans, at games, like they did prior to the past few seasons?
I actually have nothing against Cincy. Was just joking around.

I think it compares well with Ohio State's preseason schedule which is always ridiculed as too weak.karen lotz wrote: one thing I did find funny was this comment about Cinci's non conference schedule:
at Miami of Ohio? NC State has been down as has Fresno compared to the height of their success early in the decade. I understand all the games are on the road, but its not exactly a murderer's row...Cincinnati plays one of the country's most difficult nonconference schedules, including Miami (Ohio) at home, Oklahoma at Paul Brown Stadium in Cincinnati and road contests at NC State and Fresno State.
And this is in no way a slam on UC, just thought it was a funny comment.

You are joking, right? OSU plays 2 MAC teams, Marshall and Miami all at home. It doesn't get any weaker than that.gamauter wrote: I think it compares well with Ohio State's preseason schedule which is always ridiculed as too weak.
Edit: At least they aren't playing a FCS team this year.

No they aren't but the other 3 are MAC schools(and yes I know Marshall is in the C-USA but it seems like yesterday they were in the MAC). Ohio State should cruise through their non-con schedule with the exception of the Miami game. That game will not be given to themdat dude wrote: Miami (Fla) is weak??

I'm not saying they are weak. I was responding to the comparison between OSU and UC's ooc schedule. Miami Fl is a team that is definitely headed in the right direction after some lean years. I don't think they are the world beaters that the OSU faithful will have you believe since they were added to the schedule.dat dude wrote: Miami (Fla) is weak??

Yes, that combined schedule is weak. I said the U is not weak but is also not as strong as you and your fellow bucknuts are saying.Pick6 wrote:knocking osu's ooc schedule..karen lotz wrote:You are joking, right? No, it isn't. They weren't very good last year. I'd expect a better post out of a major league poster such as yourself.newarkcatholicfan wrote: Hard to believe Notre Dame with their coach isn't in the top five.

I got what you were saying andI agree with you that OSU's non conf. schedule is weaker than Cincinnati's. And your last sentence is absolutely correct! Miami is an awful, down and out, overrated team....until they are on OSU's schedule.karen lotz wrote:I'm not saying they are weak. Eh, I do think Miami will be better than last year. I think they fall between 10-20 range. Not world beaters, but a formidable opponent for sure.
