Everyone talks about this books and movie. I know the new one comes out friday. I just don't see the appeal maybe cause I'm 29. I'd rather watch True Blood and read those books.

It gets little girls hot and bothered. It is a romantic fantasy for them I guess.

But in my barracks adult females seem to love this. I know my roommates both do and they are 19 and 23. They have all the books.

Yea, I've never even heard of Twilight until the first movie came out....I still don't get it. It looks like a lame movie IMO.

My 17 year old has her tickets for tonight. I tried to read one of the books and just couldn't do it. I watched Twilight and it was ok, guess I could see where teenage girls would go gaga. What cracks me up is the grown women who freak out over it.

Yea, I get the obsession with the little girls. But it's the mid 20 females obsession that I don't get. I obsessed with plenty of females, but I'm not obsessed with Hillary Duff.

And I actually did sit through the first movie and it was honestly a terrible movie. The acting was so awkward.

Wife loves it -- we are 23 years old...

She didn't know anything about it until I Netflix'd the first movie for her last year...She has since gotten all of the books and is pretty much obsessed with finishing the series...She started the 1st book last week and is almost through the 2nd book after 1 week of reading, and I have the others from Amazon being delivered for her any day....

I don't get it, I can tolerate the movies, but I'm glad she has a book/movie she loves...We are going Saturday afternoon for the new movie with some friends/family.

Plus since she is so into these books right now, she reads 2-3 hours after work each night = perfect timing since I can just play the new Call of Duty for hours without having to worry that she's annoyed that I'm playing too much...

Thank you for this. I do like how it says REAL vampires. LOL

Anyways, my 28 yr. old GF and her 33 yr. old sister love the books and the movie. I don't get it. My GF says she likes it because it is different (the sparkling vamps), I just like the traditional burn up when sunlight hits you vampire. I am a Trueblood fan (so is my GF), but really can't get into Twilight.

Ok...(I am 27 and my wife is 25 just to clear that part up) so for those that haven't read the books...don't knock them. The books are truly amazing! To me and my wife they are only third to the Bible and the Harry Potter Series. When my wife asked me to read the books after she finished all 4 of them in two weeks...I was like..."Ummm...no thanks...not really interested...not my kind of thing." But I cracked and I am glad that I did! As I said...the books are amazing! The movies on the other hand...the first one doesn't even compare with the book...on two different levels...kind of like the Harry Potter Movies compared to the book...you really can't compare them. However I do like to watch the movies because if gives me a better view of everything in my head when I am reading....no matter how bad the acting is or how far it actually is from the books.

My wife and I have tickets for the 7:45 showing on Sat.....we aren't fans of midnight showings of movies.

The only part that is a little weird is that my wife and her friend that is going with us are making shirts that say TEAM EDWARD...LoL I told her that I wanted a team Jacob shirt and she just about killed me....LoL (no gay inuendo intended).

I can't wait for Sat. though as everyone is saying that this movie is supposed to blow the first one out of the water.

You should divorce your wife for wearing something like that and being 25. Do you think she'll be upset when she sees all the 15 year olds wearing the same thing? LOL

I'm a 26 year old guy (no I'm not gay), and will admit that I've read the books and seen the movie a few times. My gf was going crazy over it reading the books so for the heck of it I decided to read them as well. I understand why girls go crazy over it, and I think it's an interesting story although not written well. Also the acting in the movie is bad, but I think the overall idea isn't bad.

It's part of the sissification of America. Back in my day, things like vampires were scary, menacing mo-fo's that'd wipe out an entire town/city in the blink of an eye (re: Salem's Lot by Stephen King; They Thirst by Robert R. McCammon and.....uh.....those two. They combined monstrous brutality with the ability to be more suave than James Bond.

Now, they're little new-age 90210 kids that need killed. Twilight needs a Van Helsing character to just kill them. All....the vampires, the werewolves, the humans.....all of them.

I'm sure you typed a lot more after that, but at that point anything else you say becomes irrelevant for pulling that line out. :P

I'm not going to judge anyone else for it... I just find the whole Twilight thing stupid, so I'll sit around and drink beer instead.
