The NFL draft is the most retarded, overhyped event in sports. It's stupid how excited everyone gets about a bunch of rookies. It's stupid that we have to listen to two douche bags (McShay and Kiper) nonstop for weeks. It's stupid that we get to hear the draft analyzed, basically laid out before hand and basically have the top ten memorized without even trying before the draft even happens. It's stupid that people get so excited about sitting around watching the highlights and hearing the same discussion that has been going on about guys for weeks.

I'm thrilled that the two best teams in the NBA are playing tonight. Otherwise I might be forced to watch this garbage. What is the difference between wasting hours of your life watching nothing and looking at the draft sheet after the picks are made? Oh yeah, wasting hours of your life watching nothing...

If you're not a big fan of Hockey or the NBA, or early season baseball for that matter, it's a big deal. There's a lot of chess matches going on, smokesceens and backdoor, timed deals...the hype that leads up to it is what makes draft day interesting, when teams go in directions not projected by the talking heads.

It's stupid if your only concern is the end result, the game that goes on in determining that result is worthy of note to those that follow the NFL exclusively.

I might be more excited to watch the draft tonight than the Cavs. As a browns fan its the best part of the year. :)

Although I'll be flipping back and forth between Cavs and draft...I agree with this. As a Browns fan, the draft is usually a big deal. Especially since we're usually in the top 10-15 picks, it makes it a little more exciting, plus I'm constantly hoping we land that big pick that turns out to be a star. Now if I were a Patriots fan, I'd probably give 2 shits about the draft. Not too concerned about picking in the bottom of the draft year after year due to being a good team year in and year out. Kind of like the Cavs and the NBA draft...don't really care about it, because we're a good team and don't need much.

He's right. Somebody call Goodell and tell him to call the whole thing off.

I think that someone needs to tell Goodell that the NFL is the least profitable AND popular of all major sports.

I'll agree with sentiments on both sides here; the draft is interesting in that you get to see the college stars picked, and see the future of your team. The draft, however, does not warrant a 24-hour ticker on ESPN with updated mock drafts every two days, from Kiper, McShay, and probably three other people. It's overkill. Report on the wheelings and dealings, but there are a lot of other great things going on in sports right now.

I'd rather watch the soccer draft (if there even is one) instead of the NBA.

If you are a true football junkie, tonight is a good night. You might even have your own draft board on the wall. Some people are even having parties tonight to celebrate the draft. I guess if you aren't a junkie, then tonight isn't a big deal. Sure, you might get the see the future of your team get on board tonight, or maybe you aren't a firm believer that one or two rookies aren't going to change the course of your team.

I am also glad there are some options to having to watch the draft tonight, the Cavs game should be a good one.

I agree that Kiper and McShay need to get a life and tone it down a bit but the draft is still fun to see who your team is going to build around. Now if their were a NHL or NBA playoff game tonight that I had a rooted interest in, I probably wouldn't watch but I will be flipping around the whole night anyways.

I used to have a big draft party, being offshore and in LA, I won't this year.

I watch the draft if nothing else is going on... but with some play-off action going on... no chance in hell.

The NFL draft trumps the NBA and NHL playoffs. That should tell you something

The NFL draft is like Super Bowl Sunday for Browns fans. Forgive us for our excitement.

I'll be watching both the draft and the Pens game.

But I'd have no problem watching the draft from start to finish. This is the most popular sport in this country. High school football is huge. College football is huge. The NFL is huge. So is recruiting, scouting, drafting and all of the philosophy that goes into building a team.

I'm not saying everybody has to be into it but it's obvious why it's become so big. Just because football, in general, has grown and grown and grown in popularity.

Too bad someone didn't keep the reciepts on a few of your team's picks. You could have returned or exchanged them.

I cant disagree about ur draft setiments!

Mock drafts.......all this hoopla and shit.....totally overblown.

The NFL and espn has to feel like the company who invented those UGGZ boots......just sittin back, laughin how something so lame has become so big.

dont get me wrong...i love the NFL.....friends and i have season tix to our fav team...but the draft thing..and to spend time and effort on the mock drafts and who is this who is that..who is what......total waste of time.

I may flip thru to read the bottom line to see who drafted whom...but to actually sit and listen to pundits talk for hours on end......nah-baby-nah.

Nah, we just hold yard sales where we get pennies on the dollar for our old picks. See Brady Quinn, Kamerion Wimbley, Kellen Winslow, Braylon Edwards and Jeff Faine.

My wife got mad at me for referring to the next 3 as my high holy days of the year. Something about Jesus or something, I dunno, I started toning her out early on :)
