BQ had NFL potential, just got mixed up in some wierd drama. Intersting to see what he will do in Denver.

Wimbley I never understood why he was such a flop. I thought he was a great pick, guess that is why I am not an NFL scout.

Winslow and Edwards again I thought potential HOF'ers. Just never got the attitudes right. The whole I am a soldier and people hate me because I went to michigan that shit didn't play well in Ctown.

Faine is still a mystery to me as to why they let him go. I thought he was solid, and a great leader on the O-line.

Maybe the new regime of management will do a better job of player development.

Some people are obsessed with the draft. My cousing made a 250+ page draft guide, analyzing as many player profiles as he could, and took tomorrow off of work. Today for him is better than Christmas. It is ridiculous.

Wow.

and why would one do this unless you were either the two tools who are on espn, or working for a team evaluating the players.

Wait until he gets laid for the first time, he will start focusing less of his energy on that draft guide.

He does it because he is obsessed with the draft. He actually works for the 2010 Super Bowl Commitee, in Dallas, and does it in his spare time. He sends it to scouts and execs of sports teams. 2 years ago he actually made it to the final 3 of a scout job with the Packers.

You could make that same argument for anything. Let's say you don't watch the Cavs tonight... at 11 PM you can catch all the highlights and know the result.

It's stupid if your only concern is the end result, the game that goes on in determining that result is worthy of note to those that follow the NFL exclusively.

Completely agree with this, but that doesn't mean the coverage of it isn't freaking annoying.

NFL Draft >>> 1st round NBA playoffs

If the Cavs fuck up tonight, it will set them back 1 game. They'll still be up 2-1 and have no problem winning the series.

If the Browns fuck up tonight/tomorrow, it could set them back 2-3 years.

Why do you watch the bball games then? Can't you just read about it on ESPN the next day? The Cavs/Bulls isn't even a series. At least in the draft you don't know what's going to happen.

Mulva, if the Browns fuck up tonight it will set them back more than 2-3 years imo.

They have the ability in the next 3 days to fix some major problems that were created by the previous regime. Some problems have been corrected already but with the amount of picks Cleveland has, the potential for success is at its highest.

I actually agree with SQ Crazies to an extent here. While I'm not going to say that following the draft is dumb or that people shouldn't get excited over it, it really doesn't do anything for me. I usually just turn on the TV or check on ESPN.com every two hours or so to see what has been going on or who has been picked where, but that's about it; I don't watch the nonstop highlights or listen to Mel Kiper Jr. revamp his mock draft every 30 minutes or sit in anticipation for 15 mins while Oakland is on the clock to draft a wide receiver who runs a 4.0 forty but couldn't catch an STD in brothel. I have to agree that it gets too way too much hype. But if people will tune in, I don't blame ESPN.

It definitely could set them back farther. It really depends on what they do. Obviously drafting a 'franchise QB' who ended up not panning out would hurt more than trading down and getting a safety who didn't pan out.

I think this is a pretty solid draft class though. As long as we don't take Clausen I'll be happy.

lol at all the hockey guys...any sport that has people playing in their upper 40s-low 50s in not a real sport.

The draft is overhyped in that there is absolutely no fucking way that I am going to glue myself to a couch for 2-3 days straight over it. My favorite team out of all teams is the Browns, but I can just leave a draft tracker up on my computer and watch/do a shitload of other stuff.

I don't need to completely waste a day or watch the talking heads for days on end to get stuff out of it.

I'd rather watch the NBA or NHL tonight, flipping to the draft here and there. Football is my favorite sport by far, but there are more interesting things going on. People operate in tunnel vision way too much when it comes to sports.

I think this is the first time I've ever heard someone accuse hockey of not being a real sport. Definitely one of the most idiotic things I've ever read. Just because it doesn't interest you (it doesn't interest me at all either) doesn't mean it isn't a sport at all.

NBA draft>NFL draft.

Its way more of an accomplishment to get drafted into the NBA then the NFL. 2 rds vs 7 rds

NBA: 30 teams x 2 rounds/5 positions = 12 players/position

NFL: 32 teams x 7 rounds/24 positions = 9.33 players/position

Just thought I'd point out that an argument can clearly be made both ways.

Hockey is def a sport....but it doesnt touch NBA and NFL. Id rather watch a hockey game over a baseball game though.

The fact most wrestlers and hockey players hate basketball must be due to some kind of inferiority complex haha

I'll be glued to the draft. Will be checking up on the Penguins at times. Could give a rats ass about the NBA or its playoffs. The sight of street corner thugs running up and down the court dunking basketballs doesnt appeal to me.
