No.
Would you argue Animal House is? Because Superbad is basically this generation's Animal House.
I disagree. While I enjoyed Superbad. IMO it isn't in the same league as Animal House. That is one of the funniest films of all time. John Belushi RIP.
What you are arguing doesn't even compare to what he was saying
Not going to argue with you. I stand by what I said.

Superbad - Definitely not legendary to me but I liked it
Observe and Report - Had a few funny parts
Knocked Up - Pretty good
Step Brothers - Hilarious but not because of Rogen. His part wasn't funny to me.
Funny People - I didn't mind it. I don't think it was garbage like the majority seem to but it also wasn't bad ass.
Pineapple Express - Pretty good.
40 Year Old Virgin - Pretty good.

Superbad is actually this generations Porky's or Fast Times at Ridgemont High. Both movies have the same theme of high schoolers trying to get laid. While Animal House has people drinking, smoking and screwing, a central theme of the movie was about "bucking the establishment" and youth not trusting adults. They are very different movies.

I like Rogan for the most part (although I did not like Pine Apple Express). I agree with what some others have said in that I like him best as a supporting character. To me his best roles were in 40 Year Old Virgin, Superbad and one I am embarrassed to admit--- his voice over in Monsters vs. Aliens (hey I have a young kid!).

Seriously though, Funny People is a hot piece of garbage, and I walked out of it with a bunch of people with about 40 minutes left (which was 2 hours or so into the movie).

They forgot to make that movie funny.
Boy, you sure missed that 10-ton truck of irony that ran over you.

I think you may have missed an important aspect of Funny People. It wasn't suppose to be all funny.

The problem was that the serious storyline was absolutely atrocious. Adam Sandler cannot pull that role off, and the entire story took way too long to develop, to the point where I really didn't care to see how it turned out.

I knew going in that it wasn't supposed to be all funny, and that it was Apatow's "serious" comedy. It wasn't funny; and Apatow proved that he should really stick to comedies.

I would disagree with you only because Superbad was outstanding, but if you had to pick a comedy from the last 5 years or so that people are still going to be watching 20-30 years from now (and I know Rogan isn't in it) it's The Hangover and it's not really even close. Superbad was good but the HS theme doesn't fly when you talk about movies being "epic" in terms of being memorable. American Pie is the best movie I've ever seen in that medium in terms of being memorable, and (hard to believe) but that movie is 12 years old and there are already plenty of younger people who don't even know what American Pie is. I think Superbad will be about the equivalent of the 90's American Pie while The Hangove will be remembered for far longer than that.

I thought the Hangover was pretty over rated. It was definitely funny, but not nearly as funny as the other movies mentioned (Superbad, American Pie).
