He might still be there at our next pick... And we may pass on him again. One thing has been crystal clear through the first three rounds... While this is considered a very deep class in virtually all other positions, it is absolutely not a good draft for QBs.

I don't want to take a quarterback just because it seems like we 'should' take one. If our future franchise QB is not in this draft, let's address the other needs that we have (which are plenty).

True. But at a certain point, the value of McCoy would match the pick in hand. If the Browns truly are doing 'best available' then that means they think McCoy is a really crappy pro QB.

Which surprised me.

Oh well. We traded up for a RB that I didn't think we'd fill in by giving up a third and two fifths. Right now, no qualms with MH or Heckert. i'll let the draft and season play out before i start laying into them on their first go-round.

Whats the deal with Everson Griffen? I heard he might take a play or two off but he is a first round talent supposedly

Agreed. It is pretty obvious that taking McCoy with the pick we traded up for would have been a terrible decision, because he is still out there. We almost certainly wouldn't have gotten Hardesty with our original 3rd round pick, so things have gone pretty much exactly how Heckert probably envisioned.

It looks like we will have another shot at McCoy. If Heckert/Holmgren don't take him with our next pick, then I don't want anything to do with him because it will be obvious that there are serious issues, there.

If he is there again when the Browns draft they should just take him because at this point the odds of getting a starting player at any position are iffy, and McCoy is too much of a value to pass on at this point considering his skills are actually a good fit for what the Browns want to do offensively in a semi-west coast offense. Not to mention the fans want it, which would buy the team some good will which is always needed.

I have to assume that freak injury to McCoy in the BCS title game has really hurt his stock? I think the kid can play, someone is going to get a steal with McCoy in the 3rd round, the guy is a winner.

We are at pick #86 in a DEEP draft. To say that a pick at any position is iffy is dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb... or ignorant? I'm leaning towards stupid for the right word. Judges ruling??? "Retarded" Ahh yes, that was a retarded assumption..

This. Browns will be near the top of the draft next year and that will be the time to take a QB.

We'll find out in two picks. If the Browns don't take him then, there's obviously issues and McCoy is damaged goods.

Worst time for a commercial.

What was that about trading up? NFL.com shows the bengals picking a WR. Where was the trade-up?

Edit.

We just traded up. Worst time for a commercial.
No, that's a scheduled pick.

I would like Eric Decker with one of these 2 picks, even though I know Holmgren wants a speed guy at receiver.

Damn, for a second I thought they were saying we traded with the Bengals to move up one spot. I was a little concerned with that.
