Mr. Guiton is going to be a good QB. Will he start at OSU some day? I honestly don't know -- but he showed a VERY nice touch on the ball and was adept at looking off his primary receiver and then finding him.

He definitely showed that his scholarship offer was more than simply a fill in for the position.

I was also impressed with a DB by the name of Taylor (?) Price. He was always around the ball and even had a pick. No idea where he came from so he just may be one of those Spring Game phenoms we never hear from again.

Johnny Simon was a handful all day. . . he's going to make some noise this year. Little Boren looked great at fullback too (leaped over an ankle tackle). I also thought Jordan Hall looked a lot bigger.

I said when watching Simon play at Mooney that he would be an All American someday. He's going to be a great one.

I have to admit that after watching Guiton today,I'm a little less worried over what would happen if TP gets hurt..not a whole lot less worried, but moreso than I was before yesterday

I agree that who knows if he will ever be a starter. But I know this, I would feel much more comfortable with him (even being young and inexperienced) going into the game if Pryor got hurt than Bausserman. That guy is just not D1 material.

Posey had a bad case of the dropsies today....hopefully that issue will be resolved before the season starts.

I too was impressed with Guiton, although he showed he needs some improvement as he missed open receivers on several occassions. That can be chalked up to inexperience. I certainly wouldn't be as edgy with him coming in over Bausserman who was very un-impressive in throwing two picks. Guiton has similar skill set to Pryor and the offensive look would be much the same if he was plugged in.

Did Berry get any time at the RB position? If he did I missed it, I wanted to see how he did...no real threats at RB impressed me from what I could see.

Didn't think so...can't find any reference to RB performances in the game...just QB position. I miss the names on the jersey for the spring game.

Zoom is clearly the #1 back. He was coming off a tweaked hammy and looked like an actual D-1 tailback. He should get 80-90% of the carries this year.

Thank God, I hope he steps up and plays the way people thought he could when he came to OSU. Boom Herron is never and was never going to lead us to the promise land.

Well he already played that way towards the end of last year and during the year anytime Tress would let him get into a Rhythm. Before the spring game they should Rose Bowl Highlights and showed Saine running over the DB to get into the end zone and I just thought to myself "damn, I forgot we had a tailback that strong"

Boom is a solid back, though I agree he isn't going to ever be a feature back we've been accustomed too. I disagree that he won't garner more than 10-20% of the carries though. I'd bet the left one he gets 40% or better.

Boom is a 3rd down back, nothing more. He trips over his own feet, falls down on first contact, goes down easily to arm tackles. Saine will take over more of the carries like he did last year. I didnt say he WOULD get that many carries, just that he SHOULD. I really could see Saine and one of the #3 guys being the best backs on the team.

Last years stats tell the story of who was better
Saine- 739 Yards 5.1 YPC
Herron- 600 yards 3.9 YPC

Should I would tend to agree with, and I think there a a couple backs that we've yet to see that would decrease those carries further (Berry). But, knowing Tressel, and his loyalty to players that have paid their dues, I'm sure Boom will get his share of carries. I'm OK with that as long as it doesn't hurt the team in the long run.

Yes. I hate that we don't get to see some of our other backs. I agree with you, Boom will probably still get a good amount of carries.

I'm not sure that was actually Brandon Saine wearin' that #3 jersey. He looked like a completely different back, actually making defenders miss.

Too bad he couldn't do that earlier in his career. He might be a big prospect. He could always run in a straight line--but he could only run in a straight line. It was so upsetting to watch lol.

and how about that Zach Boren? I know it's not JT's style to use the fullback for anything but a blocker, but what a weapon he is--wow!!!

Saine is too injury prone to make him carry 90% of the load.
