Pretty simple question.

I still cannot see the Cavs dropping game one, but do you think that Chicago can steal the first game?

Depends... are any of the Cavaliers robots? If so we should try to keep that area dry. Otherwise I don't think rust should be a factor.

I don't see rust being an issue. The court is inside, out of the elements, so the rims should not have any traces of rust on them.

I hope rust does cause them a few losses....


....and not beucase I hate cleveland and all its being.......but because i dont like the practice of team setting their stars late in seasons.

Same reason why I was rooting against the Colts to lose their first game, and any other team that rests their main guys late in the season. ..
annd it was the same reason I hated to see Wes Welker get hurt for the Pats.....

I think the integrity of sports is f'd with in professional sports at end of seasons.

Integrity? You play to win championships, not some meaningless game at the end of the regular season.

There are two sides to that though. Remember how pissed we were when the Colts sat guys and the Browns ended up out of the playoffs. I know, I know.....take care of business and you don't have to worry about other teams. I don't mind sitting guys the last game or at least reducing minutes, but sometimes it affects playoff seedings.

I wasn't real upset, its part of the game. We all knew it was going to happen.

That's bullshit. Once you have your best seeding wrapped up, you rest your players.

They don't give out rings for playing starters in every game.

I've seen the Steelers sit out players in week 16 many, many times.

When they sit guys..its BS as well.

Im just saying that i think it fucks with the integrity of the game when teams, any team in any sport, dont play guys at the end of seasons for "rest".

I think it goes back to my good ole days.....when tournament would start and get down the road a little bit and other teams stop playing would would still find teams to play. We d pick up games at the last second. Most times the other team would come in and play it like a scrimmage in teh first week..playing guys who have no business of playing...just fucking around...but we treated it just like any other ballgame on the schedule. Same lineup, same players. Who cares it meant nothing. Who cares it was only a scrimmage or practice game. Our hall of fame coach would get sooo pissed when other teams would treat it as a fuck around session. He woudl preach any time you walk onto that field of play you owe it to yourself as a player, and coach, to do what it takes.

Yeah..i know...H U G E difference between this subject and what Im talking about....but I think that is where it stems to. I just H A T E it when teams basically bag games late in the season. I hate it..and I hate it if the steelers do it.

They have rested players every single time after wrapping up a seeding. A few years ago against Buffalo, they rested as many as possible, but they won the game anyway.

The Steelers win over the Browns that year was still important for seeding purposes for Pittsburgh. That is the only reason why Ben and others played. The starters played well into the 4th quarter that day....and once the game was finally stored away, then the first teamers came out.

Neither the media nor the Steeler fans I knew have bitched about resting starters when the game is meanigless..

Your view on this subject encompasses a teeny weeny minority.

When you have a player the caliber of Lebron James, who may in fact be the greatest player to ever touch a basketball, it doesn't really matter if the team shows some rust, because in the end, Lebron James will be driving down the lane, getting fouled, making the shot, and dancing his way to victory, and you can take that to the bank.

I can see both sides of f the picture here and have a preference.

First, it's nice to have the luxury of being able to rest starters as a consequence of dominating the regular season.

Secondly, it's Cleveland...home of heartbreak, missed opportunities, red rigtht 88, the drive, the fumble, Jose fuckin' Mesa...etc....

I would be lying if I said that I wouldn't be a bit ashamed if the Cavs straight up BITCH SLAPPED the the last four teams, tilting their hand, sayin' "Here it is mother fuckers, come and deal with it". It's Cleveland...we have no laurals to rest upon.

Rest?...I guess. But I would rather see a "fuck you mother fuckers" attitude heading into the post season. Probably just the Cleveland fan in me more than anything else.
