Trueblue - so true.

We visit out daughter's grave in your town pretty regularly. However, I still can't bring myself to visit my sister and brother-in-law's grave site in Chillicothe except on very rare occasion - it's just too painful.

If the cemetery has an office, stop in and ask the caretaker, they are typically very helpful.

I am also a member on a website called find-a-grave. This may sound very creepy to some, but, I do photo requests for those that wish to see the gravesites. I have been active for about a year and a half and have taken over 300 photos of graves all over northwestern Ohio. Today I spent most of the afternoon walking 3 different cemeteries in Shelby and Miami counties. Some requests I filled today and some I didn't have any luck in finding, and those are the ones that I find sad (the ones that have nothing to mark their passing).

So, yeah I visit my loved ones and a lot of those that I never knew.

Yep..my uncles grave is this way. No tombstone or anything. Just the little grave marker they put on there when he was buried. Upsets me to no end. But nothing I can do about it.

Sure there is. You can contact the you local monument company and have one made yourself. A small marker is really not that expensive. Ususally they do all of the work contacting the cemetery and having the foundation poured. You may have to pay the cemetery trustee yourself or it could be included in the price of the marker, just depends. A small marker for my wife's sister who died as a baby never had a marker and it cost me about $300 to have one placed. The monument company even had a payment plan, if cash was a problem.

Also, If your uncle was a veteran, the VA will place one for no cost to the family. You simply need to contact the VA and give them the info.

Nope...absolutely nothing we can do. We have tried. At the time of his death, he was going through a divorce. Not yet finalized when he passed, so, he was still legally married. It is up to his wife to have a tombstone put on it. And she doesn't want one on there. 'Cause she's a c**t. If we pay to have one put on there, she will tell them to remove it. Which, as his wife, she is able to do. It's out of our hands until she kicks the bucket as well.

If I am in the area I will usually visit my grandparents form dads side and brothers grave. My brother would have been older than me, there isn't many days that go by I don't wonder what life would have been like with an older brother. I always hated being the oldest. I know it sounds crazy but sometimes if I am having a bad day I will go out and talk to Gma and Gpa and ask for a little guidance. I do try and keep nice flowers on the grave if no one else hasn't.

That really does suck. I don't know what else you could do besides wait her out. She'll keel over eventually. I wonder, if the cemetery would actually follow through with tearing it out though. I wouldn't think that they would given the circumstances. I assume that you and your family have investigated that though...

Yep..we've investigated it..and there isn't anything we can do. The cemetery will indeed follow through b/c it would be a court ordered thing.
