I don't think he killed himself. I think he was hit by a smooth criminal.

I tend to be in the camp that he probably is being eaten up with guilt. The boy (now a man) has already gone public and said that nothing inappropriate happened. Daddy is living the life of Reilly with the money and maybe his conscience just couldn't take it anymore.
