What move was indeed the worst move this past year? Some pretty good choices.

My vote goes to Hedo. He was the last chance to keep Bosh around. However, they fail to make the playoffs, and one has to imagine he's got one foot out of Toronto now. From a production standpoint, I'd either go with Charlie V or Gordon, but the stakes were just higher with Hedo and the Raptors. Sheed was real bad, but they didn't give him a big contract like the other guys have.

I picked Ben Gordon, they paid him way too much for what he produces.

Real easy if we're just looking at who played the poorest. The Celtics didn't reach their expextations, but that cannot be put on Sheed's shoulders alone. KG playing like a peg leg pirate is a lot of the blame. An overall older team without a good bench is another reason. Sheed would be the worst, but his contract isn't as bad as some of the other guys. Gordon and Charlie were just POS's throughout the year. However, nobody was really expecting anything from the Pistons. People were expecting things from the Raptors with the addiction of Hedo. People have been on his nuts since the playoffs last year. He didn't help that team reach their goals. Now they just might have lost Bosh because of it, but obviously not the sole reason. He just got a pretty hefty contract, which didn't seem to help the Raptors.

Several of those guys weren't free agents... but I guess it's not really a big deal.

Charlie V has to be up there just because of the amount they gave him. I might leans towards Sheed but he doesn't make nearly as much as some of those other guys, and he also wasn't expected to contribute much

Oh, and Trevor Ariza? Really? haha.

Artest just due to his role on LAL and how poor he has performed.

Hedo couldn't keep himself and that new money of his out of the clubs!

At first thought I voted for Hedo, but here are some salaries to compare:
Ben Gordan - $10 million
Charlie Villanueva - $6.5 million
Hedo Turkoglu - $9 million
Rasheed Wallace - $5.8 million
Richard Jefferson - $14.2 million
Ron Artest - $5.8 million
Trever Ariza - $5.8 million
Vince Carter - $16.3 million

After looking at the money due, I want to say Jefferson now, because he's not worth that much.

Crap, its Hedo. Didn't know he got that much more.

Jefferson was traded. The Spurs didn't give him that contract

My goodness people. Jefferson didn't get that contract from the Spurs, he was traded there. Consider who the Spurs had before the trade... they had Bowen and Michael Finley. Jefferson averages 12.3 ppg for a playoff team, how *bad* of a signing could he have actually been?

When I looked up those numbers I thought that Jefferson was traded, but wasn't sure and didn't look it up.

Guess we can take him off that list.

And if we are considering newcomers to new teams, at this point in the season you would have to say Shaq who is getting $20 million this year.

Yea my bad, I should have said just new comers; and not during the year. But you guys are getting the drift. I don't think Jefferson is that bad knowing that he's probably going to opt out of his contract after this year (wtf?). Those other guys are on the books for the next couple years with bad teams. As a team, without a doubt, the Pistons FUUUCCCKKKEEEDDD up. I never thought much of Dumars, instead I thought he got lucky with the chips he gathered. But hey, a ring is a ring, so I shoudl STFU. These are the types of moves that could get him fired 5+ years after winning a ring.

I read somewhere that Jefferson is under contract for this upcoming season, but he has a player's option. He would make either $14 mill or $15 mill to accept the option, if he opts to become a free agent you can be sure he will not make that much money on the open market. If Jefferson has any sort of brain at all, he'll be a Spur for at least one more year.

This was easy for me. I picked Jefferson. He was supposed to make them a favorite in the West--he didn't. They're still a strong team in the West, and it isn't completely his fault because of injuries, BUT he never fit in right. And he makes a buttload of money.

The reason it was easy for me is because I expected big things out of the Spurs with him added. I thought it was maybe the best move any team made. The others:

Gordon/Charlie V--never expected much from either guy. Not surprised by the results.
Hedo--has played up to par this season IMO, look at the percentages. He just doesn't fit that system anything like the way he fit in with Orlando. I knew they were a perfect match, I wasn't ever worried about him in Toronto.
Sheed--I think a lot of people knew he was washed up, I don't see this as a bust at all.
Ariza/Artest--Not Ariza's fault they failed to make the playoffs. He's not a leader and never will be. Artest is a downgrade compared to Ariza for what the Lakers NEED even though they thought opposite. I thought that was the case when it happened, so I can't be surprised when it is the case.
Cater--Thought it was a bad move then, definitely feel the same way. Can't say he's a bust, he's about lived up to my expectations for him in Orlando. Maybe even exceeded them a little bit.

Jordo-- Jefferson has already said that he'll probably opt out of his 15M contract.. that's why I said wtf. He wants a longer extention. He thinks he can get 4yrs 40M his next contract. I think he's fucking fucking crazy. NOBODY will pay him 10M a year, hell, nobody will want to pay him more than 7M a year.

SQ: What do you think is worse-- trading for a guy that made 14M a year and get to the playoffs (and probably lose in the first two rounds, but knowing very few thought you'd even make the finals) then have his salary gone after the year... or pay a guy 10.6M a year for 5 years when he was expected to be a BIG chip in keeping a top 10 player in the league in Toronto for his career, but have him play pretty decent, but not mesh with the team, play like shit down the stretch and miss the playoffs, and have your star player possible leave forever, but yet, be stuck with 10.6M average for four years?

I definitely get we have different opinions which is cool, I'm just saying the Spurs will rebound from that move a lot faster than Toronto will if all those things fall in place-- which odds are, they probably will. Looking at it from an individual perspective along side a now/future perspective, the Raptors could have fucked themselves more than anybody. I think the Pistons take the cake with the future. They spent all their cap on 2 dudes that shit on Detroit.

No doubt Toronto had the shittier deal. But I really thought Jefferson would push the Spurs over the top in the West.

And I think Bosh was gone either way.

Yea, I thought Bosh was gone too. However, he really does seems like a loyal guy. Had Toronto kept up with that 4/5 seed, I think things would be very interesting this year. I see what you're saying though, you were big on the Spurs this year with Jefferson, hell you drafted him, then he shit on your face.

Yeah, whatever. I think I was the only one who had a positive record against Bill so eat me.

I still think Bosh would have been gone because he wouldn't have been able to catch LeBron. 4-5 seed isn't good enough. It's like Atlanta, they're good but I honestly don't think that current roster will ever beat a LeBron lead Cavs team in the playoffs. But I agree with you, he does seem like a loyal guy.
