What does it matter his view? Two people were beaten up because they were wearing Sarah Palin pins. I don't think ANYBODY can "support" the beating up of ANYBODY. Duh!

The Devils Advocate statement

People get beat up for a lot less. How about the little kid that gets beat up because he talks funny Rarely Reported

Or the housewife that gets beat up because dinner was not ready when the hubby came home Rarely Reported

Are you just upset because of the stupidity of the action, or because Palin's name was inserted into the situation?

This is obviously some kind of mistake, or at least they had it coming for some reason. Only Teabaggers are violent thugs...this has been proven repeatedly.

Not to use your name in vain, but being a Devil' Advocate, you can't compare your examples to this. This was clearly politically motivated. The other examples you cite above are not.

I wish the two of them a speedy recovery, and shame on this who did it. I hope they are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

I compare them because they are both senseless. Motivation of these acts are inconsequential details

I disagree. Motivation of an attack is a major reason why a story gets covered. I have empathy for the examples you cited but frankly, if you reported every incident there would be hundreds of those stories a day. There wouldn't be enough time or space to cover them all.

An assault that has political motivation (be it on the right or left) should get coverage. Whatsmore, seeing that the MSM has gone out of their way to discuss the Tea Partiers are a bunch of racist thugs, it is only fair to give equal time to show an assault from the other side of the political aisle.

They were? The blog said "orginally reported", and the link provided later offers no reason as to why the attacks took place.

2. If you want to start a topic relating to an article, you MUST include your opinion in the first post

That is true.

I haven't seen all the articles on this, but i've seen no quotes from police or the like, or anyone who has talked to or found the suspects. How do they know it happened because they were wearing Palin pins?

Anyone have any further updates?

The picture of the two that were assaulted from the blog with a police officer in the foreground is interesting as well...i've had a broken jaw/nose from a soccer incident, and the dude doesn't look beat up at all.

And, for those saying the mainstream media wouldn't cover this at all...i'll readily admit that they wouldn't give it the same amount of coverage as if this were two lefties who were beat up, but the fact that there isn't ANY mention of it makes me a little skeptical. They still often mention things like this, just don't give it much coverage. But, there would still be a link out there, IMO.

Sometimes people start topics in order to ask a question of information. I think he did that. He asked why others thought the drive by media had not reported it. Maybe he didn't know why and thought others might.

He knows why lol.

Just always nice to have a nice "media sucks" circle-jerk whenever possible.

He still has an opinion on whats going on. That's called a "baiting" thread, and those are not allowed here.

“Let’s get them, they have Palin pins on”

Sorry, but I'm calling BS on this.

Didn't a similar accident happen before the election? Only to find out the woman made a false claim?

Thanks. I wasn't asking a question about the rules. I was offering my opinion on interpreting the posting format of this thread.

I don't know if clarifying that yours is different to mine really matters....or if my opinion alone really matters. Lol.

The attack itself was reported by police and they are seeking more information.

What's not clear from the report I saw was whether this was truly politically motivated or not. The story only mentions the thugs as making "derogatory comments" to the couple before they were beaten. No specifics.

I'd like to see the actual police report -- and it it turns out that the attack was precipitated because they were identified via their pins, it SHOULD be a much bigger story than it is now.

Imagine if they had been beaten for wearing an obama pin; my oh my it would have been a hate crime of epic proportion, complete with all the other ancillary charges. But, in this case ............................ well, ........... it's ok.

Change we can believe in ........................

I don't think anyone is saying it is Ok. However people are clearly saying

- Doubt they were wearing Palin pins or it was politically motivated or
- Not much of a story.

I think those who wonder why more has not been said are people who hear the media speculate about attacks on the other side of the aisle all the time. We've heard about racial slurs shouted out at politicians w/out any proof, we've heard about college professors get arrested at their doorstep due to racial motivation, we've heard about alleged violence at town hall meetings last fall without evidence. What's good for one side is good for the other.

Yes. My guess is they had on Palin pins and got beaten and robbed for their money the Palin pins did not matter and would not have mattered if they had Obama hats on either.

This is a non story and I am glad the corporate media missed this one.

"drive by media"??

Sounds like something I would hear from a certain Florida-based hate monger/drug addict.
