Interesting trade. I knew the Broncos wanted to get rid of him I didn't think he would end up in Miami.

With all of the moves being made by the Jets, the Dolphins had to do something to try to stay competitive in the division.

if they take a safety (hopefully earl thomas) with the 12th pick. I will be ecstatic with this offseason.

A little surprised to hear that Parcells would want Marshall, but the guy is arguably the best WR in the NFL and with Henne's big arm, they could be a nice combo.

Surprised they got two 2nd's from him. Pretty good job from the Broncos.

Brandon Marshall for two 2nd rounders is a steal for Miami.

Two second round picks for maybe the best WR in the NFL? Yes, please.

Haha. Well yeah that may be the going rate for top WRs but that doesn't make it a good trade. If you can get one of the best WRs in the league and give up a couple of 2nd rounders, you undoubtedly got the better end of the bargain.jpake1 wrote: Surprised they got two 2nd's from him. Unless Marshall implodes with the Miami nightlife. Which I could see happening.

Who is Denver going to throw the football to now? McDaniels better pull the rabbit out of the hat this year because so far the only thing he has been successful at doing is running the Broncos best players out of town.

I'll blame your quote on ignorance and not stupidity.jordo212000 wrote: Who is Denver going to throw the football to now? McDaniels better pull the rabbit out of the hat this year because so far the only thing he has been successful at doing is running the Broncos best players out of town.

Marshall's wanted to leave for a while because of this.

I've heard about that, but I call B.S. Marshall has demanded trades in the past. This isn't something new. Marshall has always been a difficult guy to coach and reign in, but when a coach can control him he's one of the best. If you remember correctly, Marshall said he had a tweaked hamstring and McDaniels implied that he was sandbagging and that many NFL players play through more difficult injuries, so he benched him. Effectively ruining the relationship/the Broncos chances at a playoff appearance.
He also secretly shopped Cutler last year, only to deny it, then retract the denial to say that he wanted Cutler. It's true that neither side came out as the "good guy" but now that McDaniels has purged the team of all the distractions (i.e. players who were the best on the team) it will be interesting to see where Denver can go. They better have a strong draft, that's all I'm saying.

I certainly don't like an opponent to improve their team but fortunately the Jets have Revis to counter Marshall.

And if that should fail, Rex Ryan will just devour him.

Definitely. Though Rex got either gastric bypass or lap-band a while ago. He's been dropping the weight like crazy I guess. He'll have to settle for eating punters.

I won't deny that McDaniels screwed up the Cutler situation, but really, can you blame him? What has Cutler done to prove he's a "franchise" quarterback besides being drafted in the top 15?
Was it his 20/14 season in 2007? Or his 25/17 season in 2008? Or how about his doozey 27/26 season this past year?
Maybe McDaniels was right in driving Cutler out, and I still think that for someone whose best friend was murdered, that would play a HUGE reason in why he's not comfortable there.

Could you imagine the sight of Rex, Rob & Buddy, with their girths (previous girth for Rex), chowing down at the dinner table? That would bring a tear to Romeo Crennel, Charlie Weis and Eric Mangini's eye.

When the Jets are in town, it will be a race between Marshall, Braylon and Holmes to see who can get in trouble first.stroups wrote:Thats going to be the biggest match-up this season.gorocks99 wrote: Unless Marshall implodes with the Miami nightlife. Which I could see happening.

Perhaps Big Ben can come down during an off weekend and show them how to "pick up" girls, too.

I still worried about someone to actually THROW the ball first. We can worry about who is catching it after we find someone good enough to throw it.jordo212000 wrote: Who is Denver going to throw the football to now? I am not sold on Brady Quinn. I firmly believe that Denver needs to take the risk, deal away some draft picks, and get a pick high enough to secure Colt McCoy. On top of that, deal away Quinn and bring in a veteran this season to work with McCoy. Suck it up, label it a rebuilding year, and get the Franchise QB we have not had since Elway. Elway took teams that had "nobody's" on it and turned them into somebodies. Its all about the trigger man in Denver.

What did you think about the Cutler trade? Were you sad to see him go? Did you ever think he was going to take that next step?sonofsam wrote:

I think Cutler has potential, but not in Denver. I think the timing of the trade was a little premature, but all in all I am not upset he is gone. I would have liked to have gotten a better option than Kyle Orton, but sometimes you can't always have what you want. The most important thing for Denver is to get an Elway-like QB. To be honest with you, there is only one QB in the league that has an Elway-like mentality on the field and that is Ben Roethelisburger. With all the turmoil surrounding him, who knows what his future will be like with any team. I am not a Steelers fan at all, but I truly enjoy watching Big Ben play. We need to find someone with that kind of mentality and I believe Colt McCoy is that guy.jordo212000 wrote:What did you think about the Cutler trade? Were you sad to see him go? Agreed. But I also agree with jpake, Holmes just went for a 5th rounder. Marshall has had his own troubles as well. Two 2nd rounders is a helluva lot better than a 5th. Marshall is better, but not THAT much better than Holmes IMO, I think the Broncos got top dollar.jordo212000 wrote:Haha.
