I know we have a lot of married folk on here, and not enough unmarried folk?

So all kidding aside, what's it like? I don't want any crap about how great your kids are, because they probably are average, I'm looking at a strict analysis of what its like to have to sleep with one person the rest of your life, and share your time(and money if your a man) with a woman?

Also, thoughts?

I was married.

The answer in as few words as possible: FUCK. THAT. SHIT. Restricting my dick to one woman is a crime against humanity!

Ok I've been there once and it didn't go well. We lasted 7 years, married for 3 but it was doomed from the start but I honestly loved her. Still do in a way, we just are too different to be together. All started well of course but we really realized who we really were not long after. Plus on top of that we worked together after my last year in the Navy. That didn't help. Then we got over our heads in debt and a house and really turned on eachother and when it was all said and done we split. However that was a blessing in disguise I think for both of us as we were young 28. No kids either in all this! We split everything 50/50, sold our house and paid off our debts and walked away clean. Both prospered with jobs after that too, we both make good money and live good lifes. We talk a little more now on nicer terms but it got ugly for a few years divorcing.

I have of course met someone and have been with her about 5yrs now, most have seen her pictures posted on here. This relationship is emotionally way better than the first and we are both financially strong. We have a great townhouse on an old course lake and enjoying the warmth of Florida. We plan to get married (I did put a nice rock on her finger) and I see this as the right one!

Let me quote a person I ran into last weekend..........

"We would still be together if we didn't get married."

Take it for what it's worth. He seemed to be wasted at the time.

Sleeper, from your posts, I don't recommend you get married. There has to be a mutual respect. You don't have any respect for women (unless it is just an act that you put on). But, if you really feel the way you do, don't get married. It won't work out for you.

Marriage has its ups and downs... As long as both are truly committed to each other, it can work. Looking at it from a sexual point of view, it should not be a "sacrifice" to make love to the same woman all the time. If it is just good old fashioned "sport fuckin" you are looking for.... do not get married!! (see Tiger)

Money matters cause more divorces than any other reason... Make certain you both are on the same page as far as savings, spending, retirement plans, work goals (moving a lot), housing, and automobiles. I would recommend finding a spouse that allows both of you to challenge each other to do better in your career, your relationship, and taking care of your family.

Happiness can truly be taken away with a phone call... it can be fleeting. True happiness is when your family has the same beliefs... that you are on the same page with your faith. It is our belief that we are going to spend enternity somewhere... We are preparing for Heaven. We did not start out with this as a foundation in our relationship, (even scoffed at it as many of you do) but as we started a family, our faith has blossomed into the core of our family values.

It is not always complete bliss in a marriage to say the least, but if it is founded on reasons more than just loving each other... then you have a chance. I would recommend not getting married at a young age (under 25) just because it does take a while to figure out that you do not know everything... It helps to have a few life experiences that bust you in the marbles a few times.

Marriage is like having cable with only one channel. And you watch the same movie night after night after night.

With your avatar, and apparent demeanor, I suggest that you don't get married.

If you are asking about me, It's great. Sex when I/she wants it, no worries about an STD. Basically sex is every night depending on job times/kids schedules etc.

Works great for me.

Again, you just might want to find a nice farm animal.

If you have to ask, then your to simple minded, and immature to understand! And from your posts on here you have along way to go!

When you learn to think of your girlfriend/ boyfriend/ wife/ husbands before yourself then take a look at, it until then, you need not apply!

Imagine if you will, The best meal in the world imaginable. For the sake of argument, lets just say it's a grilled Porterhouse, Baked potato and salad

It starts out an obsession. You just cant wait for a grilled Porterhouse, Baked potato and salad. You dont care about much else for a while cause you have a grilled Porterhouse, Baked potato and salad.

breakfast lunch dinner, 7 days a week you have a grilled Porterhouse, Baked potato and salad

after a while, you figure out different ways of having a porterhouse. Maybe you pan fry it, or cut it in chunks and saute it. Hell for a change you might even eat it raw :) but its still a grilled Porterhouse, Baked potato and salad

It may seem like it's tedious, but you still enjoy a grilled Porterhouse, Baked potato and salad

The problem comes in when you decide to go out on the side for some Buffalo wings or sushi.

"What's it like?"

I don't believe it's "like" any other relationship you might be able to experience.

Going on 5 years now, 3 kids. I look at marriage like my old D line coach in college said about winning a game. "If you beat your man 51% of the time we will win this game!" LOL Same for marriage, the goods are outweighing the bads!
