Bruce trying to not swing at pitches out of the strike zone and the ump rings him up on a pitch that misses that far? Hard to learn the strike zone with calls like that! Electronically called balls and strikes would help the game immeasureably.

After Votto's lead-off double, a bunt was not in order with the pitcher coming up after Rolen who they would have walked if BP sacrificed. But a strikeout is not what was needed - some kind of contact was to score or move the runner. Wasting that AB was very hurtful to the Reds cause, as was Ondrusek's walk to Paulino in the 8th.
