Looks like a nice new park, I'll definitely be visiting when I'm back in the Twin Cities: http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/columns/story?columnist=caple_jim&id=5073045

Yeah, not sure who thought it would be a good idea to put an open air stadium in Minnesota but there will be some nasty cold games early and late season.darbypitcher22 wrote: looks like a nice park, gonna make for some awfully cold games in April/Early May and then in October

I was reading they only have three home night games planned for April this year, the rest will be day/afternoon games -- looking like nice weather for the series this week, daytime highs around 70 every day.

I think people are making too big a deal out of the bad(cold) weather in Minny. We get cold fronts all over the place every year. It is frigid in Philly, NYC, even Cleveland during games every year. If it snows, so be it, they have to make up a game or two.

I don't think it will be that major of a problem either, but at the same time what if there are extended periods of snow, especially during playoff time? Wonder if they could maybe play some games in the Metrodome if they need to?Laley23 wrote: I think people are making too big a deal out of the bad(cold) weather in Minny. The average amount of snow in the Twin Cities in October from 1940-2002 was 0.5 inches.
To put it in perspective, Cleveland averaged 0.6 inches in October from 1941-2002.

Minneapolis isnt some city that is going to get a ridiculous amount of snow. Just because it is cold somewhere doesnt mean it is a hotbed for snowfall. It isnt Syracuse or Buffalo or anything.

The only three night games in April deal is a pretty good one, I'm sure people will still show up at the ballpark.
Its definately an improvement over the dome. I mean, the Metrodome could get really loud at times, but it was so bland, and it was boring(even for me) to watch games being contested during the summer in there

Looks very similar to the Mets ballpark Citi Field ... were they built by the same company?

Yep, both were designed by Populous (formerly HOK Sport). They've done a lot of stadiums, including Petco Park, Camden Yards, GABP, the new Yankee Stadium, and a whole host of others (full list here: http://portfolio.populous.com/projects/index.html )

Looks like a nice stadium, I think the outfield is a little boring. Not a whole lot going on, especially in comparison to the Mets stadium

I'd take simple over the 50 different advertisements the Mets have, although with that Mauer contract the Twins may need to add some.
I love how the right side is open so you can see the sykline, similar to the right side of GABP open to the river.

I wasn't saying the Mets stadium was the look they should have emulated... you look around San Francisco has the big glove, Cincinnati has the smoke stacks, Boston has the green monster, etc.
Target Field looks nice and is definitely an upgrade. No disrespect from me.

Yeah I agree they could add something out there. I think they have a big logo in dead center that isn't in this pic but not sure what is out there on the ground in right.

This isn't the best pic, but here's kinda what the outfield looks like now:

I like that state logo, simple and not cheesy. What is that white building in right, the hockey arena?

That's the Target Center, where the Wolves play. For hockey, the Wild play in downtown St. Paul at the Xcel Energy Center, Gophers play on campus in Mariucci Arena

Are the Twins wearing throwbacks? Or are those their current home uniforms? Those are sweet!

Does anyone else think looking at the first photo that it resembles Progressive Field slightly in design?
