I would say OSU #1, UC in the 15-17 range. Pitt looks good where they are. Boise at #2 and Fla outside the top 10

Florida is easily a top 5 team this year, even with all the talent they lost to the NFL.

I don't know if Penn State is a top 20 team. They will be breaking in a new QB and several new starters on defense. I suppose by the end of the year they could be a top 20 team, but I don't think they will be at the start of the season.

No way anyone but Alabama should be No.1

I'd put TCU 4th,VT 5th,and Texas 6th

You think Boise is going to win in Blacksburg? I don't, possible but early season I think Tech wins it.

The game isn't in Blacksburg, its at FedEx Field in Landover Maryland. Virginia Tech will have more people there because its only about 5 hours from Va Tech. That makes things a little more even.

Oregon is too high, they have too many players in jail.

OK...will still have a home game feel for VA Tech though.

Florida at Alabama could be the biggest game of the year again.

Overrated are Boise, TCU, and Oregon.
Underrated are Oklahoma, LSU and Auburn is certainly a top 25 team this year.

Defiantly will. Boise State is technically the home team and will probably travel extremely well because of the holiday weekend.

The top 3 is obvious. They probably won't end the year that way, but there's no question those should be the 1-3 teams to start the season.

boise state is NOT overrated. They return like 21 out of 22 starters if im not mistaken. Also Oregon is overrated

I agree Oregon is overrated. i think ESPN is just throwing the Pac10 some love and helping them represent their Top 10. Boise State is where they belong. 21 out of 22 starters on that team return. If they get past VaTech, they are undefeated and playing in a BCS bowl game.

No they will put them in the National Title if they run the table next year

So if Alabama, Ohio State and Boise State run the table you think Boise goes to the ship...don't count on it.

when your toughest opponent is VA Tech at a neutral site...well it matters

There was a lot of talk about it being a "down" year in college basketball with no team that was head and shoulders above the rest.

It looks like the upcoming college football season is going to follow suit.

Ytown is correct, particularly with his first paragraph. In CFB, a traditional elite team will get the nod over a non-elite, especially if both teams are undefeated.

I think CFB has a lot more parity than it used to. It used to be the same old schools were destined for the top 25--- now some of the up and comers are knocking on the door and it has people worried. This year, look for non-elite teams like Boise, TCU, UC and UCONN to be up there all season long.
