I'd probably throw a fit too if they told me to turn my IPOD off during takeoff. At least thats what the article implies was the reason when it says an IPOD was responsible for the 'disturbance'.

Seriously? You know electronic devices are supposed to be turned off during take-off and landing... or have you never been on a plane?

I know they are supposed to be turned off but I never listen and the 50+ planes I have been on all survived takeoff.

Granted this doesn't even become an issue when a person is intelligent enough to just hide the stupid thing.

Of course they arent going to actually cause an issue. I never turn mine off either. But I also dont make a fucking scene if asked. I just turn it off. It isnt that hard for him to take the headphones off, turn the iPod off and if he REALLY wanted to be the rebel put it back on 1 minute later. But no, he made a scene.

It's not so much the "making of a scene" with the Ipod as much as "you're serving a FOUR FUCKING GAME SUSPENSION from the NFL" and you're going to make a scene.

I dunno about iPods, but a good friend of mine is a flight attendent and some airlines now are installing devices that can detect cell phone signals.

Seems like the airlines are taking the better safe than sorry approach... and rightfully so. Glad you guys like to be tough and keep your iPods on.. heaven forbid you can't listen to it for 4-5 minutes.
