Francisco gets the start today at 3B, the last day before he goes to the minors, unless an injury happens today.

Hopefully there are no stretches of 5 outs in 9 pitches again.

...and then a 7 pitch inning to an unproven pitcher in relief

Bruce probably should have been the guy that got the day off. He is hitting sub .100

Reds win another barn burner as they start their playoff push.On a side note, Bruce,Phillips, and Rolen are a combined 5-45...WTF is that about??

Dusty specifically mentioned last night after the game that Bruce was swinging the bat well, so I would assume he will let him hit his way out of the slump. I'd love to see Francisco go 4-5 today and force them to think about dropping Cairo instead.

Hopefully Harang will pitch around Lee and have a successful game, starting 0-2 would not be good at all.

I'm a big Francisco fan, but I really don't want to see Francisco wasting away on the Reds bench. If they can somehow get him some at bats in LF a few days per week, then I wouldn't mind Francisco sticking around... but IMO he needs to play everyday and if he can't do that here, he needs to be in Louisville

Bruce tattooed a couple last night that the Cubs made good plays on.

2 out double by Dickerson and single by Hanigan gives the Reds a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the 2nd

Stubbs hits a routine ground ball in exactly the right spot for a fast guy to lead off the 4th after Hanigan's big hit to give the Reds the lead, and turn over the Reds line-up to let Stubbs lead off.

With the K of Cabrera, that's both pitchers getting strike outs on good tailing back door fastballs.

How does Fontenot get such a good throw on that backhand play on Cabrera when he slipped when he planted to throw? That kept the lead-off batter off the bases.
