Not much. If he comes back. Someone else may pay him though, but I don't see him wanting to leave the defending champs if they win it all for anything but retirement.

I could see the Cavs being around a 50-win team this year without LeBron if we're talking about "Perfect World" imagining (ie: no injuries, same moves that got made this year get made again...even if there's no reason to without LeBron on the roster). But with Mo, Delonte, Z, Shaq, Moon, Powe and Gibson all having missed substantial time due to injury (or in Z's case, while waiting to re-sign with the Cavs after being traded to and waived by the Wizards), I am really having trouble imagining the team having much consistent success this year.

I don't know the rules on this. I think he would have to be cut similar to what happened with Z...and hopefully, he would re-sign. But one has to wonder how much gas he has left in the tank. He is nowhere near the player he once was.

He is doing exactly what Cleveland wanted him to do, but he'll have to take a HUGE pay decrease which I think he would.

Windhorst, among others, said Shaq, since being out with injury is looking better than he has in 5 years. He's lost some weight and is a bit more "tone"..

I saw him the other day doing an interview and I have to agree. He looked a lot slimmer than he has in a long time.

Again, I could be dead wrong on this....but i thought there was a "floor" in place on how low a veteran can go on salary. Something to do with the overall collective bargaining agreement. Somehow, the 20% figure rings a bell.

Not that that worries me. If Gilbert wants Shaq at 16 million next year, he will shell out the sheckles to get it done.

Also, we can't rule out the possibility that Z returns for another year. We all know Z is slipping, but i thougjht tonight he had a tremendous game.

Good to hear. It does irk my ass that Mo, Jamison, and LeBron were sitting courtside tonight, and Shaq was nowhere to be found.

Shaq is part of this team, and I think he needs to show his ass up.

He has been rehabbing and excercising in the fitness room while games are being played at the Q. Not sure if that was the case last night, but they've talked about him working out while the games are going on.

There's a vet minimum, but I don't think we will give Shaq that little, somewhere around 5-6 million a year seems about right.

He can't workout during the day?

Shaq can watch our games from China. He is part of the team, but I don't question his dedication to the team. If the rumors are true and he comes back in better shape than he was, then I'll be glad he went home for awhile. He's going to be an interesting player to watch in the playoffs--he's been gearing up for it all season, I don't think he has worried for a second about the entire regular season.
