Now that the Cavs have clinched homecourt throughout:

Inspite of shooting a great 4 out of 5 from the field against Boston (which included a gift goal tending 3 that the replays clearly confirmed to be a horrible call). Anthony Parker's offensive numbers over the past 13 games.

FG % 28-88 from the field...................31.8%
FG% from beyond the arc....... 11-42.... 26.2%

Then throw in the fact that he doesn't rebound much, there's no question that he has struggled tremendously and is really hurting the team.

Get Gibson in the damn game, coach.

Those aren't good shooting numbers.

He isn't there to score points, ESPECIALLY now that we got Jamison.

Parker's shot has been awful for at least a month. I'm hoping he is just tired and will start hitting again after getting some rest. He has played too many minutes this year.

He's not there to put up 15 points a game, but he is there to hit wide open threes when he gets them, and it's been a while since he's been able to hit them, no matter how open he's been.

They don't expect him to help carry the load, but I imagine they did sign him because he was a good 3pt shooter, and his 26% lately isn't exactly a good percentage.

Parker is junk. I don't understand why Brown continues to play him. Yeah, he's a bigger SG, but our defense is not the problem. I'd rather see Gibson in there working his butt off to play defense and BANGING 3 pointers left and right, rather than watch another minute of lazy parker chuck up another garbage shot.

Either way, we still have LEBRON JAMES, so I guess it doesn't really matter anyway.

The problem with you is that you cannot stand the numbers. The numbers don't lie.

The Cavs didn't sign Parker to shoot 31% from the field....trust me.

He's there for defense. We have an unreal collection of great scorers. I don't care what his numbers say--talk to me when we quit winning games...

If the starting 2 guard can't hit ridiculously wide open shots in the playoffs, that's when the winning will stop.

So shooting 26% and 31% is OK with you? All the while we have a 50% 3ball shooter rotting away on the bench?

I don't care what the Cavs "signed him for". He has hurt the team with his OVERALL PLAY.

Plenty of Cav fans here disagreeing with you Sq...and agreeing with FW is a grave sin.

Really?

How many points did Bruce Bowen score for the Spurs? Who is our model franchise?

I'm not saying Parker is as good a defender as Bowen was, but he's damn good in his own right.

Exactly....and unlike last year, this team has only had 1....maybe 2 blowout wins...whereby the starters had to stay in during crunch time.

Last year's team blew people out in the late season...and then blew people out in the first 8 playoff games.

I like Brownie...but he needs to figure this shit out.

Bruce Bowen was ten times the defender Parker is, and I'm not saying Parker is a bad defender, he is solid, but nothing spectacular. And Bowen knocked down open threes when Duncan or Parker would kick it out.

Bowen and Parker? Really? Care to comment on Parker's defensive blunder that cost Clevealnd the game Sunday?

You act as if he's all that and then some on the defensive side. Well he isn't. He's only slightly better than Gibson...and that's because of his size.

He played really well until March came around....and I think his defense is suffering because his offense is a rancid stench lately.

Come on Brownie...get Gibson on the floor. A title is depending on it. This isn't the YMCA. Play your best players for God sake.

Parker knocks them down too...about 1 in 4. So he goes 0-3 and hits one in the 4th quarter. Shit percentage, does it when we need it though. He's pretty good at hitting important shots--shots that end runs, shots that end cold streaks. He is not nearly 10 times worse than Bowen, that's a ridiculous statement. You're not appreciating what Parker has done for us--which is exactly what we wanted him to do IMO.

Hahahahaha, you're worried about playing Boobie over Parker and saying that we might not beat Orlando if we don't?! LOL, thats just dumb. Let's put Boobie in at the 2 and lose to the Magic for the same reason we did last year.

Parker is a gamer, I'm not worried about him at all. He's done his job well this season--you don't get as many minutes as he has on the best team in the NBA on accident. This is just another example of fan thinking he's smarter than the coach--which is inaccurate probably close to 95% of the time.

I think people are just saying there is room for improvement, and they'd like to see him playing his best ball this late in the year. I don't think you'd disagree with that. It's not about just winning. It's about playing the best you can as a player/team, and the winning will come with that. That percentage is getting it down now, it may not in a battle come playoffs.

Why slam somebody for their idea when it doesn't match the coaches? We've all had our own thoughts that didn't match the coaches, including you.
