Washington will have Donovan for a yr. Philly isn't making the playoffs this season anyways so I don't see the big deal is. Nobody was coming off their high second round pick so they got what they could get.

The 1st of many foul ups by Holmgren. Cleveland could've had McNabb but settled for the 2 stooges.

I don't know.....espn is investigating on whether or not McNabb is a terrorist.Al Capone wrote: The 1st of many foul ups by Holmgren. Cleveland could've had McNabb but settled for the 2 stooges.

Seriously. In no way shape or form is this a Browns thread, and you have to spew your garbage. GTFO.Al Capone wrote: The 1st of many foul ups by Holmgren. Cleveland could've had McNabb but settled for the 2 stooges.
BTW, the Browns not getting him was a good move, but you won't acknowledge that.

What are the skins going to do with Campbell? And, does this make Santana Moss a fantasy dark horse again?

Al
But with his contract only being for one more year, I don't think giving up high draft picks for him would have been in their plans. If you ask any intelligent Browns fan, they need a lot of players at a lot of positions. A one-year rental of an aging, but still very good quarterback at the expense of a #2 and possibly a #3 the next year (if Philly was asking for the same price from anyone) would go against what I think their organization wants to do, as it'd essentially be hurting the future to sneak out one or two more wins next year. At best, that'd get them a one-shot playoff appearance that likely would be followed by more futility w/o McNabb and at worst, they'd finish out of the playoffs, but with a worse first-round draft pick.

The Skins are making some decent offseason moves.

It ain't got shit to do with Holmgren, the Browns had the pieces to put a deal on the table but Reid and the Iggles wouldn't pull the trigger...the fuck out.Al Capone wrote: The 1st of many foul ups by Holmgren. Cleveland could've had McNabb but settled for the 2 stooges.

I hate the Eagles. Plain and simple. Philly fans are ungrateful. They will never win anything for a long time!

this just solidifies my belief that the browns can stay at 7 and get bradford (if they want him).

yeah it's as if they said "we might not be good, but we'll be young."
not sure why a team that was consistently in contention decided to blow it up and start over.

I still can't believe they traded him to Redskins. What were they thinking?

The link I posted pretty much explains the trade.jordo212000 wrote: I still can't believe they traded him to Redskins. What were they thinking?
He didn't give them much of a choice.

They got bluffed. I read the article, and McNabb did play the Eagles pretty brilliantly, but I do not think he would have retired like he said he was going to if they traded him to the Raiders. Heck, to me McNabb's demands to be traded to the Redskins prove that he wouldn't have retired IMO. (In Washington, McNabb wants to prove the Eagles/Philly fans wrong and show that he isn't finished). If he got traded to Oakland and retires, what would he have proved? Plus he would have tarnished his legacy as being the stand-up guy all along and would have turned to the little crybaby who didn't get his way.royal_k wrote:The link I posted pretty much explains the trade.jordo212000 wrote: I still can't believe they traded him to Redskins. Philly just made the NFL season a little more intriguing though. I am certain that this will not end well for Andy Reid.

You're probably right. I don't believe he would have retired. Just a threat to get what he wanted.
