Not really a shocker with all of the drugs and early deaths in the business.

Yes. He started out as a jobber, then became Mortis for a while and then became Kanyon.

If I recall he was a foil for DDP for a while. I was half expecting both he and DDP to return to TNA since they seem to like picking up the WCW retreads.

I Googled Page and was surprised to see that he is now a yoga guru and had actually sued Jay-Z over the "diamond cutter" symbol that he (DDP) has trademarked.

A couple years ago I can remember he came out and announced he was gay. He also suffered from Bipolar Disorder, I hope that had nothing to do with this.

I really liked the Mortis character and thought WCW could have done alot more with it.

Read that link you posted. That's rich if they fired him for being gay considering McMahon had Pat Patterson working for him forever.

Vince played it down but it was the reason they fired him to avoid conflict with the rest of roster.

I think there were several superstars making threats that they would leave the company.

Pat Patterson wasn't making advances toward other guys backstage like Kanyon was.

You might want to check that. Patterson had his "boys." If they had a certain "look", Patterson wanted them.

Patterson was all about one of the guys who got trained in the class before me. When RAW was in Cleveland, that guy played a cop (he actually was one and a worker) who got choke slammed by the Big Show.

Sad, he was one of the true innovators of wrestling in his WCW days.

A newsbit I read after he killed himself stated that due to his bipolar, he had apparently had issues strong enough to be considered a suicide risk beforehand. So I would guess that being bipolar played a big role in his death. It's a real shame...on 411mania.com, they have a wrestling news bit about what different wrestling people Tweeted about his death and it seems a lot of people in the business really liked him and his passion for the industry. Gregory Helms had a funny anecdote stating that after getting released from WWE, he went to Vince and asked him to give the "YERRRR FIIIRRREEEDDDDD!!!!!" treatment.
