Is there anything I can do? I already filed a police report.

Can't microsoft tell you where exactly it is when you turn on xbox live...or is that just wishful thinking?

Unless it has a GPS in it there isn't a way to know exactly where it is (as far as I know). An IP address can only get you a general area (i.e. the city it is in) which is useless.

I saw it on your facebook...I just figured some buddies took it.

Anyhow, there isn't any kind of gps on those things.

Pretty sure its because your a KU fan.

JK, that does suck and its probably not worth the effort to do anything other than file a report. You're pretty much SOL with these type of situations.

When did it get stolen?

Was there forced entry?

They've recovered them before using Xbox Live.

Well, that's up for debate.

We had a little party (jsut my friends, wasn't a huge thing..no randoms) last night. Every single time I've had people over, me or one my roommates put the xbox in my roommates room...well last night we didn't, just forgot.

This morning, I didn't even notice if it was there or not...all of my roommates and I...minus one...went to a nearby lake to chill all day. We didn't lock the door, because my one roommate who didn't come was there.

That one roommate claimed he swears he saw it this morning when he got up...at around 1 pm today (when we were all at the lake), he went to the bathroom, when he came out the front and back doors were wide open.

When I told em I think the xbox was stolen, he immediately told me that story about the doors...and i was like "fuck".

The doors were not locked, they probably just walked right in, grabbed it, and walked out the back door...all while my roommate was in the shitter.

Yep. The chances of someone pulling up to your house and walking in, talking the gaming device and leaving are very, very slim.

Someone that know you stole it.

False.

Most incidents like these happen during the day.

My friend's house had a similar event happen, but the door was kicked in while they were at class. Had computer's stolen and everything during an hour time span that they left for class and returned.

He's saying that most likely someone familiar with the house, where your shit is, maybe even knows you guys' schedule, is likely to have done it, as opposed to some random Athens townie.

Yeah I mean there were literally 30 of us who piled into like 5 cars and drove to this lake...i'm sure it's someone who was either walking by and saw us leaving..or someone who lives close by.

False?

What part was false?

Most property theft doesn't occur from unknown people to the victim. Am I wrong?

Contact Microsoft and tell them what happened. They can probably mark the console as stolen on their system, and maybe even help track down who stole it.
