Obviously more people than just Buckeye fans thought he was the best player in the country.

What a joke
gibby08 wrote: Nobody is that good
You have just exposed yourself for the moron that you truly are......don't you realize that the 6 games that Turner missed actually helped him out with regards to these awards?? Ohio State was 3-3 without him with a 1-3 start to the Big Ten season. He comes back...they someting like 18 of 20 games, the Big Ten regular season co-championship, Big Ten tournament championship, a #5 end of season ranking, # 2 seed in the tournament and abirth in the Sweet 16.

Yea, he isn't that good.....
gibby08 wrote: Keep thinking Turner was far and away the best player....

because he isn't
Apparently, you are far more knowledgeable about college basketball than the voters for this award.

Guess you know about as much about college basketball as you do about politics.....

How does a guy who "isn't that good" win Player of the Year from the AP? Explain that to me Gibby. I am interested to hear

4 assists a game is not nearly/almost/close to.

120 in a season?

Com'on.

I'm as big of an Evan Turner fan as the next guy but saying he was ALMOST/NEARLY/CLOSE TO averaging a triple double every game is CRAZY!

I would find it acceptable if he was 20/9/8 but 20/9/6 is a HUGE difference.

I bet I can find a announcer say "he nearly, is close to, or almost" averages a triple double/ game.

I'll see what I can find when I get home.

Wanna bet?

I bet you can but does that add in validity to what you said? No.

That's like me saying I almost make a million dollars a year when I only make $600,000. $400,000 is a BIG difference.

In 31 games, Evan Turner had 185 assists.

To average 10 assists a game, he would have need 310 assist.

310 - 185 = 125 assists.

125 assists is not almost/nearly/close to. If any announcer wants to argue that with me, I'll send them my e-mail address.

I was speaking hypothetically. I actually make around $2.3 million.

I would say it does add validity.

Its was an estimate, a generality, not a definite.

No. I'm not trying to bash ET one bit. I'm just stating what announcers say and what stats prove are 2 different things?
