they have won 13 golds in 16 olympics. they lost more games in 2004 than all US teams combined. haha ok, blame on the coach, a hall of fame coach by the way. its a team of the best players in the world, how much coaching should he have to do? he could have the Stan Van Gundy sleeping on the bench coaching style and should still have a team that can win the gold. the problem in 2004 was 10 of the 12 players who played on the team in 2003 left before the 2004 games.

The 2004 roster was garbage in terms of other teams we had.

Tim Duncan, Allen Iverson, LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Amar'e Stoudemire, Shawn Marion, Carlos Boozer, Carmelo Anthony, Stephon Marbury, Richard Jefferson, Lamar Odom, Emeka Okafor

Lebron, Wade, Anthony and Okafor didn't really play so othey can be left off for the most part.

Iverson and Marbury played extensive minutes on this team. That's why there was no gold medal.

The biggest black holes in the NBA's modern era were on the same team, while like someone said earlier, Richard Jefferson was the best distance shooter. That year was a wakeup call on how to build a roster for international basketball, which is why Mike Redd is playing Olympic Basketball.

I believe Kobe just came off a Mvp season and a trip to the finals and he caught feelings that Lebron took his thunder that doesn't make sense to me

Wait a second, first of all, good try with this bullshit. You aren't turning this around on me, the question was where was Kobe? Where was he before the Olympics? He'd been in the league 10+ years...it's a privilege not a right, correct?

Kobe's a douche bag, plain and simple. I love seeing on another thread that a guy like Sage thinks Tiger is a douche bag, yet he's a huge fan of Kobe. They're the same douche bag dude that happens to be great at their sport.

Neither did any player except Kobe other than WINNING GOLD. He was there for the name on the back not the front. LeBron is already the best 3 that's ever played the game. You're nuts if you think Bird was ever as good as LeBron is right now. I AM an Indiana kid. I LOVE Larry Bird and he was a great player but he didn't have shit on LeBron.
