For the most part, he has done exactly what he said he would do. Certainly his foreign policy has been consistant with his campaign....with 2 noatable exceptions. Gitmo remains open and the unPatriot Act remains in full force, in defiance with the tenets of our Constitution.

Now....we rewind the cameras and we see W during the debates....clamoring for less war, no nation building, and not policing the world. Well, that didn't turn out the way the voters thought.

JFK was a moderate....but definitely closer to the Dems than the GOP. His tax reduction was from a top bracket of 91% down to a more tolerable 60%. Still nowhere near GOPlike numbers. In addition, under his watch, the civil rights march bagan to make strong headway. JFK was initially against the movement, but changed his views. As for foreign policy, many claim that he backed down Kruschiev. I think every president would have handled the Cuban Missille crisis in the same fashion. At least I hope they would have. JFK to start unloading nukes. Had that happened, neither you nor I would be here having this discussion. JFK actually had a phone call tet-tet with Kruschiev, and worked out a detente of sorts. Who says negotiations don't work?

I don't agree with the Tea-Party folks on a number of different things, but this whole campaign to denegrate the movement as a whole is sickening.

I mean, yea, they have their nut-jobs, and we're allowed to make fun of them, IMO. Just as we should make fun of those on the left who were nut-jobs in their denegration of Bush. They were worthless human beings, and i made fun of them as well. But, it is a small number, and the group as a whole is solid, and should be commended for taking an active role in politics and bringing about the "change" they wish to see.

However, for many Americans, they only see what the news gives them, which is a bunch of pictures of people holding up signs of Obama with a Hitler mustache, etc. That isn't a fair representation of the movement. Those are just the nut-jobs that every political side has to deal with, regardless of whether you're on the right or the left.

But, it is the fact that the public ONLY sees that side of the movement that is disturbing, and is a shame.

I mean, you have to be rational enough to realize that the images most see of the tea-party are only a small, small representation of the movement as a whole. I'll continue to rip on people comparing Obama to mass-murderers and taking part in baseless fear mongering, but i'll also realize they don't represent the movement as a whole, and like to think that the "true" tea party members are disgusted with them as well.

And, same goes for those comparing Bush to horrendous dictators, genocidal maniacs, etc. Those folks were worthless, and should be called out for their idiocy. BUt, just as with the tea party movement, thoes folks were only a small, small sample of the anti-Bush movement as a whole.
