I'd vote Duncan over Howard if we were considering Duncan of the early 2000's.

This coming from a Cavs fan, so the Kobe loving talk is useless.
I mean they give it out based on PPG. I have no control over that, so LeBron DID win it--to answer your question. But Kobe scored the most points, and my opinion doesn't change now that I see who it is, it isn't Kobe's fault that LeBron only played 75 games. Kobe scored more points, I would give the scoring title to Kobe. But the NBA goes PPG--which makes total sense to me too. Either way it's fine, bottom line is--most points wins. There shouldn't be any factor other than points to determine who the best scorer is. Points=scoring, scoring=points. When you play a game and lose 103-99--you can look into the game all you want, the bottom line is you didn't score enough points to win.
But, but, but!!! I thought you said whoever leads the PPG stat is the best scorer?!?!?!
I said it's based on a simple stat--which is points. You can look at points in two different ways. My argument is that there aren't any other variables like some of you want to say there are. Points is all that matters.

The scoring title is based on PPG, not total points. Obviously there's some type of minimum of games that need to be played, but that's how the NBA hands out the scoring title.

Now as far as "best scorer", I don't think the scoring title necessarily dictates who the "best scorer" in the league is, but its clearly Lebron James without a doubt. When's the last time Lebron went 4-19? Or had a game where he shot under 30%?

I know absolutely nothing about basketball but have a lot of sports talk radio on in the background during the day. So... why did the name Dwayne Wade pop up in my head before I even opened this thread and saw the poll results?

He's the best player on that team without a doubt. Is he THE leader of that team? I definitely have my doubts about that. Melo is starting to take away anything that Billups holds in that team, but when you compare him to LBJ, Kobe, and Wade... there is no question who the man and leader is of those teams. With Melo, most people can at least question it.

I agree with this. There is no doubt that Melo is the best player on the team, but he doesn't lead his guys like some of the others.

This year it's Durant. If you want to judge with consideration of past years it would probably be Wade.
