i think the reds could make the playoffs this year, as a reds fan i am very happy with the fact that they seem to be attempting to actually be a good team, not like years in the past. Reds got a good farmsystem and i think either this year or the next few years the reds will finally be in the running.

It rest on the shoulders of our young guys. If Bruce and Stubbs can put together good offensive years, I think they have a very good chance. The Reds should be strong defensively, and I think our pitching is sufficient.

They over under for the reds this season is 79.5. The over under for the tribe is 82...which seems a tad high to me.

I think the reds will be in it to the end but just miss out.
Ltrain, you're crazy. The Indians would lose to 3/4 of the aaa teams.

Chapman looked great yesterday. They love his stuff!

No. How close they come will depend on how many wins it takes to win the division but I think this is a 86 win season. Could be a few games back of first...or 10+...depending on how well the Cubs do.

Reds fans have been going though this same thing for the past ten years. The teams that while make the playoffs all have established major league ball players. The Reds hopes always seem to rest on guys who were in AAA/AA last season, had a decent stretch at the end of the season when nobody else is trying, some guy who stunk last year (or more) and we hope will be back to old form, some guy who was cut from some other team that was once a decent ball player and finally, some fantasy that Homer Bailey is going to finally turn into Roger Clemens/Nolan Ryan.

It really is getting old. I predict 75-78 wins.

They have a chance to make the playoffs but things definitely have to go their way. I agree with the guy that said they need solid years from Stubbs and Bruce, and the veterans must remain healthy (Rolen, Cabrera, Hernandez) and then of course pitching. I like the moves they have made for being a small market club.

No, I think they finish 3rd in the Central, about 5-8 games out of the wild card/divisional race.

They will be much improved from last year...but at the end will start to choke a little. But, I think if we keep the guys we have this year for next year...that could be the year. Because there's already a year and over a year of chemistry with some/most guys

There is some good young talent on this team that fans should be excited about.

The Reds should be better than the Indians without a doubt. I'd definitely put money on that. There isn't a facet of the game the Indians are better in, and for now, that even includes the manager. I think Acta will prove to be better than Dusty however, that's part of what is killing the Reds.

Not saying Reds fans are not allowed to be optomistic. What I am saying is as another poster indicated: SSDY. After 15 years of basically the same hope I say it is time for the organization to prove it.

I think they are starting to prove it. They're heading in the right direction, at least.

I had to laugh at LTrain saying that Cleveland will be better than Cincinnati. Cleveland's team is comprised mainly of guys who stunk up the joint last year in Columbus (I was there) and if you can't win in Columbus, you most certainly aren't winning in Cleveland
