Cav's bench is ridiculous now, that is what is going to decide the championship. I'm afraid the Lakers 3 bigs will tire out, when the Cav's will be able to send 6 guys at them counting Z.

W&G Recap:

I know some aren't happy with the results of how things went in this... the folks who were really hoping for Amare.

But, I really was just trying to give you all what was going on during the crunch time period. You actually got a feel for how things went exactly, in real time.

Ultimately, cit will be interesting to see if Miami ends up masking a deal for STAT, or if they end up doing like last year and deciding to not do anything.

Ten minutes before we ended up going with the Washington trade, I honeslty felt that chances were great that we would get a call back from Phoenix that they had acepted our trade offer.

In retrospect, I think they were deliberatley trying to sound very optimistic in an effort to both call our bluff on our deadline offer, in hopes that they could buy more time in attempting to get a better offer from Miami.

Ultimately, they lost all trade leverage that they had by not being able to make a gametime decision, just like last year ...

In the end, I thik we end up with a player that fits our player mnix in the post the best, although amare is truly the higher level of talent and one that could have been a strong piece for many years to come.

But, this now gives JJ Hickson two years to work and grow into Jamison eventual repkacement as our starter at PF. Which is a realistic projection as far as his growth and potential would indicate.

This is a trade that clearly, in my opinion, makes us the solid favorite for the championship this year, and next.

Looking at our team, I see only one small area of concern and that's the SG position. Something that could be rectified possibly before the dealine still ...but if not, still look like we are about as good as we can get.

Things are looking very very good for us right now ...very good.

Dampier might be out a month; Mavs hope to sign Ilgauskas if he gets buyout from Wizards.

I wonder how Z is taking this? I cannot see him signing anywhere else, but stranger things have happened.

It is weird to say this, but I think it would hurt to see Z wearing any other NBA jersey. I really really hope he comes back. Ric Bucher says he fully expects Z back in 30 days..

Per ESPN..

http://sports.espn.go.com/dallas/nba/news/story?id=4923051
With center Erick Dampier out for an extended period, a source said the Dallas Mavericks plan to pursue Zydrunas Ilgauskas if he receives a buyout from the Washington Wizards.

Haha, you must not know Z.

He loves Cleveland and he was sat down before the trade deadline by Ferry and explained what was going on.

He knew that he was a great piece to deal and he knew he would get bought out.

I think Dallas still has their mid level exception, which means they can offer Z like triple the money the Cavs can.

They could offer him 10 mil and I would put my money on Z coming back to Cleveland.

He loves Avon Lake, he loves the Cleveland organization, and he'll retire a Cav.

From ESPN article.
The Mavericks can only offer Ilgauskas a prorated portion of the veteran's minimum salary of about $1.3 million. Ilgauskas has spent his entire 12-year career with the Cavaliers, but he would have to wait 30 days to return to Cleveland.
Either way, I highly doubt Z cares about money at this point.

No they don't. The Mavs only have the Vets minimum.. The Cavs still have their BAE...

Either way, I'm 100% sure that Ferry, Gilbert, and LeBron talked with Z. Z has been around a loooong time and I'm sure he knows what's going on.

Z has a family and home in the Cleveland area and will take this 30 days to chill and will come back for this title run.

I would have LOVED Amar'e, but this trade is amazing for the Cavs. The depth, versatility and scoring threats we have are absurd now.

Definitely up there with the Lakers now.
