He said earlier today that the visit to the White House rejuvenated the team, hopefully he's right.
No playing Washington and Indiana will rejuvenate teams lol.

I want to see the responses from the people who say "winning championships makes him a better player"...someone brought up the
Dilfer > Marino because of his 1 Super Bowl ring. So is that correct then in your thinking? On another thread I saw a Horry > Kobe because of his 7 or whatever ridiculous amount he has. If you're talking pure stats of the individual players...Lebron is an overall better player right now. Kobe absolutely has the better surrounding cast, and has helped him win those championships. He's an amazing player, a better scorer yes, better overall? IMO, No.

It's not the only thing, but it's part of it. I'm a Marino fan, and I'll be the first to admit that once Elway won his 1st title, he was better than Marino in my book. Dilfer wasn't good enough long enough to be in the argument with Marino. That said, Kobe has 4 Rings. It's asinine saying Rip Hamilton is better than Lebron because he has 1, but Kobe has 4.

Okay... so you're implying once a person has more than a 1 ring difference it comes into play?

Robert Hory? He's better than Kobe and LeBron clearly.

Hell... Hory has what... 7? Damn he's a God compared to LeBron.

while 7 > 4, Horry is not better than Kobe. It's not straight up math. It's a little subjective. Lebron with 1 title is as good as (probably better than) kobe with 4, Lebron with 2 is definitely better than Kobe with 4, in my book. I'm just saying that while his stats are clearly better than Kobe, and he is on pace to pass him in every statiscally meaningful category, I won't vote for LBJ as the best ever until he wins a title.

I am surprised LBJ fans will use the supporting cast thing in defense of their guy and against Kobe when referring to winning, but will not admit that it has everything to do with the statistical differences as well. Can people really think Kobe would not average insane numbers if he was with Cleveland?

The winning Kobe has done has in part been done due to better rosters but the stats James is putting up also have alot to do with the same thing.

This debate will not be answered until James has a better cast. However when ranking all time greats, players get no excuses once they are done. Look at D.Wilkins,Barkley,Malone,etc. A person could say big Karl was a better PF than Duncan and that he just never had the roster help Duncan had and that is a very valid point. However when all time teams are built by the experts, I think its a virtual lock that Duncan is ahead of Malone on everyone's rosters.

LeBron inked a deal with McDonalds. Guess he doesn't have to be in NY for that.

But but, he'll make so much more money in New York... in a little town like Cleveland he won't be as famous!

Yeah, Nike didn't give him 90 million at 18 before they even knew where he was playing or anything...

Anyways. I can't imagine having the kind of payday he's about to have this summer. Aside from the contract he'll sign to play, you all know his Nike deal ends this year too? They paid him 90 million (well 100 with the 10 million signing bonus, and who knows how much more based on incentives) before he ever played. What the hell are they going to have to give him now? Over/under 150 million?

Either way, he's going to sign two contracts that will likely be worth nearly 300 million in one summer....that's nuts. Who knows what the McDonalds one he just signed is worth too...

Who's going to be the first to come on here and say if he goes to NY he'll be offered more?

Who ever it is...don't waste your time, the player holds the cards not the other way around.

Kobe had a McDonald's deal until he raped a girl.

LeBron was a #1 pick and was asked to carry a franchise as an 18 year old.

Kobe bitched to get traded to a playoff contender.

Lol...yep, I love when they come with "how much more would be generated" argument that benefits the corporation and somehow tie that to the players interest, when every incentive can be implemented in a contract. Or (my personal favorite) the incredulous threat that they would just endorse somebody else.

This is the dumbest post in this thread.

Kobe is a great player, overall has a game that rivals some of the best in NBA history.

Lebron is just better, end of discussion. There is no ifs, ands, or buts, about it, Lebron is just simply a better player.

Watch them both play a few times and you won't ask stupid questions. You also could look up the stats comparing the 2.

haha.. And people want that guy on the Cavs? (not saying anyone here did, but a few on RCF did).. Oh and no disrespect to Iggy on the above video. He played some good defense on that play, but Kobe made a hell of a shot.

Iggy is a fake superstar. He got a nice contract to carry Philly as the 'main guy', which he isn't and never will be. GOOD player, not great. He doesn't fit the Cavs either...

With that said, the McDonalds deal was 7 figures, and I'm taking the over on the Nike Deal SQ.. I think we may be seeing some history this summer with LeBrons endorsements...

Kobe's shot on Iggy didnt make top 10 NBA plays for last night. LeBron's block on Danny Granger was block of the night and play number 7.

(Block)

(top 10)
