I know some paypayhuddlers have been to SB's in the past, but was curious if any freehuddlers had been.

I'm curious as to how to get tickets at face value, front row seats for 2/7/10 are 900 bucks, but I can't find 400 level seats for cheaper than $1000 a piece.


Also, if anyone has any experience with the packages that NFL.com sells that would help.

I'm not so much interested in going to this year's SB, but was looking to go to Dallas next year.

How can I buy Super Bowl tickets?

The only method the NFL has to distribute tickets to the public is through a random drawing. There is no other way for the general public to purchase tickets. The NFL does not sell tickets to travel or ticket agents.

Entries for the random drawing are accepted between Feb. 1 and June 1 of the year preceding the game in question. All ticket requests must be sent via certified or registered mail. Those selected in the random drawing will have the opportunity to purchase two tickets.

Requests for Super Bowl XLIV, to be played Feb. 7, 2010 in South Florida, will be accepted beginning Feb. 1, 2009. They should be sent to:

Been a season ticket holder for a few years for the steelers
When they make the SB you can get into a lottery to get a V E R Y limited amount of tickets for face value. The above states how any one else can try to get tickets for the SB.

Lets just say this.....to get them for face value is, well, about impossible for the average joe. There is a breakdown of how many are actually sold to the public and it is very small. Each team in the SB gets very little tix.....17.5% of the tickets for each team is what I found. Host stadium gets 5%, and the non teams get 1.2%. 35+5+36= 76% of the tickets just to the teams in the SB, the league and host city and that doesnt. The figure of what th ehost team gets shows 5% on one site...and 9 on the other.....but doesnt matter........the chance of getting a face value ticket is dang neary impossible.

The ticket packages through travel agenets can be pricey...but prolly may be the best way to go honestly unless you know someone you can stay with near the game. Many hotels are bookes/blocked off for the event. PRices for those hotels were waaaaay above normal and required at least a two night stay.

We looked into it in Detroit and, well, it was just not feasible. We usually have 6-15 people gather for every game to watch when we dont go and figured it would be more fun to do that then drop a ton on tickets.
