Perez did not wrestle. He was sick.

perez didn't make weight.London has a solid team. If everyone would have wrestled, they might have had a chance to finish at the top.I think they only had 7-8 wrestlers.

Can you please explain, because that was not my understanding of the situation after talking to Perez and his coaches?

People always say the craziest things when it's their "FRIST" or "SECOND" POST.

does multiple post give you right to make fun of a kid that is hard working and dedicated to the sport. Perez was disappointed that he could not wrestle.the only thing i can think perez is sick of is comments

lpn: I was going to PM this but for some reason yours is disabled.

TRUST ME when I say you may have this wrong. playgroundlegend realizes that there was noone in that gym more dissappointed with the situation than Perez himself. He's also seen, first hand, Perez's hard work... from Franklin Heights to London and all points in between. His post was in an effort to not put the kid out on front street concerning something that was unfortunate. Ultimately, he's on Perez's side. Would rather not see the kid get talked about negatively online.

My point for this situation: Sometimes I think we as fans and posters miss that we are talking about someone else's life. Not to mention a high schooler's life. Lord knows the last thing they need is to read something negative about themselves smeared all over the internet. Especially in the small community we call the sport of wrestling.

Taking this tought a step further is when people take it steps further (not that anybody is doing this about Perez) and begin questioning work ethic, desire for the sport, level of committment, etc. Again, not that this has been done in this thread, just felt like venting.

Cruiser, your tourney was awesome! Organized, very well run and great competition. The awards were sweet and I loved the "sectional like" format. You are to be commended for all the hard work and effort you put forth on this tournament. I only hope that the coaches jump on this one for next year! Well done!

a couple minor corrections:

103 1st- UA injury defaulted the match (not WBF)
189 3rd - UA was 5 match max ruled out (not WBD)

overall a very balanced tourney that was well run and timed nicely for the 2nd season. thanks to the cruiziers.

GoldenBear... We found the Upper Arlington placard. It was on top of the extra mats in the locker room. Not sure how it got up there, but it did.

And you are right, 103 was a WBFF not fall. ...hence the no time. As for the 189, I'm not sure how to put 5 match limit. Maybe we'll start putting 5ML.

FYI: the winners' brackets had WBD on them. That's when we began wondering how to abbreviate that situation.

Thanks again for a nice tourney...other than my kids hitting a mental wall half way through the day, I was pleased with the day's activities.

And, I don't know what you're talking about with the placard thing.....I received several compliments from parents and coaches about how UA's placard was "special" and stood out nicely so they could follow easily as it moved down the board after lunch. ;~)

Hey, GoldenBear, at least your team made the board before descending. Ours never cracked the board, I don't think. ;)

Thanks for the feedback on the programs. I'm going to keep one as a reminder. We'll look to have another one next year. I didn't see too many laying in the stands at the end of the day so that's a good thing.

KF150: I have one for you.

Cthelites:

1st: Miller (Defiance) dec. Timchenko (O. Orange 5-0
3rd: Bloss (GM) MD Milner (TV) 12-3
5th: Pidcock (UA) WBFF Chang (RB)

It is worth noting that Pidcock (UA) majored Bloss (GM) in the second round, 13-4. But, after a semifinal loss to Timchenko, was pinned in the second period by Milner from Tri-Valley.

Just saying.
