I found LAST YEAR'S teams

2009

Gahanna
Groveport
Hilliard Davidson
New Albany
Streetsboro
Canal Winchester
Teays Valley
St. Charles
Lima
And there was a 10th team that scratched...


This is what is listed on highschoolsports .net for 2010

Just 9 schools? This event is not on Streetsboro's schedule?? So just 8 teams?

streetsboro is suppose to be attending but they are still unsure, i should have the list of official comfirmed schools within the hour.

So what will be the format with only 8 teams? How about two sets of 4 team round-robin pools followed by crossovers......

1A vs 2B
1B vs 2A
winners meet for championship, losers for 3rd place

3A vs 4B
3B vs 4A
same thing....wrestle out for 5th and 7th places

Everyone still gets 5 matches.......

Nope! 7 teams. Streetsboro is not coming. Atleast that is what was said at the top of the forum. But still it should be some hard nosed duals! I love duals! SO exciting!

Man! That would be nice if they'd have shown. Not only for formatting purposes, but also individual and team match-up-wise.

Yea. Streetsboro and SVSM would have been nice to have. SVSM is tough from 152 and up. Streetsboro always has a tough team.

Any predictions on who wins this tournament?

Maybe there will be a team made up of "extras"....not only gets more kids on the mat, it would really help out the format. No one likes byes!!

I'll take Teays Valley as the favorite....Field HS invades from NE Ohio (Mogadore) so you know they'll probably be tough. Gahanna is much improved......

My top 4 are: (in no particular order)

Gahana Lincoln
Teays Valley
Canal Winchester
Field High School

I would say a close race behinf these teams are going to be ST. Charles and Hilliard Davidson.

Teays Should win hands down here though. This will be a good day of wrestling. I always love to see Teays and Hilliard Davidson go at it.

Field is D2....

What is the status of Davidson? I saw them at the Marysville Duals, but they had only a shell of a line-up as it was just a week after football season ended. Are all their starters back in the lineup now?

At Brecksville they had everyone except for the older DeLande. I would imagine he should be back now and around 171-189 area. Haven't seen any results though yet. They have 119, 140, 145, and where ever Big DeLande is. Those are there tough weight classes. But I know they are down from past years.

From what I am seeing from last years district results on baumspage. They only had 2 qualifiers. The kid at 152 went 0-2, and the kid at 125, tj fox, who was a freshman took 3rd. Also looking at last years sectional for them they only had 2 placers. I thought maybe they had alot of kids place 5th or 6th, but no! Judging off of the results I would have to say that they are not in my top4 now, and I would replace them with St. Charles.
