As a Mets fan, the Strawberry saga saddens me. He had ALL the tools to be an all-time great, but got mixed up in drugs, and broke my heart when he bailed New York to sign with the Dodgers. He hit some huge HRs in the 1986 NLCS and World Series to help win a ring, but oh what could have been ...
PS, that Adam Sandler song is erroneous!
"Turkey for you, turkey for me ... can't believe the Mets traded Darryl Strawberry."
He was a free agent!

Skyhook,
Here's a good argument. Compare the positions and type of players Cal, Jeter, and McGwire are. Cal and Jeter were SS's(Cal moved to 3B later in career) who play GREAT defense and are not considered power hitters. McGwire was going to be a power hitter and everyone knew it. So I bet they worked out differently. Also, look at body types. Cal and Jeter were small builds and McGwire was already a good sized guy.
Now, I'm in no way saying McGwire didn't get bigger with roids, but he probably would have been around the same size regardless.
