PLEASE NOTE: The Saturday weigh-in session runs from 3 to 5pm... We'll be running our varsity tournament that day, and at about that time it should be the semifinals! Stop in to see some OUTSTANDING semifinal matches.

Hope to see you soon!

I'm thinking medals for this year. For the little guys, this is only our second try. We've been bit once or twice by the "buy awards for 53 weight classes only to have 45 show" bug before. So before we get up to our ears in trophy debt, let's offer the people a positive experience with quality competition, all within a reasonable amount of time, and then well talk expanding awards and the like.

My dream would be the 6' team trophy we USED to give out! Those were the days. I'd love to know where those things are collecting dust these days.

Probably won't drive all the way down from the NorthEast just for another 1st Place Medal.....Trophies are where it's at, and Big ones with some weight to 'em too, none of that composite plastic stuff.....

My son actually prefers a Champion T-shirt ! The trophies get to be a pain in the but and just collect dust.
My son usually gives any medal he wins, to a boy that didn't place and is young. That way the little boy can come away with a positive attitude and fond memory of the tournament. BUT you can't get one of those darn t-shirts off his back ! He still wears the Tiger Open T-shirt from 4 years ago and it looks like someone used it as a shop rag ! IMO
Just curious why you scheduled this tournament for the same day as the OYWA Sectional tournament? I know there aren't many kids from Central OHIO in the OYWA , but you just eliminated a very serious group of wrestlers from your tourney.

When we scheduled our varsity tournament, we wanted to piggy-back the Little Cruisers in order to keep the mats down and tables up.

We also were just looking locally as to not interfere with outher tournaments. The two we found were Buckeye Valley and Utica. While they are Central Ohio, they are at least an hour from us.

The other plus (we feel) for our tournament is for those junior high kids whose season is over. Some have duals the first week of Feb. but some don't. If they don't come on over. If they do, we have cutties! Stay away!!!

Any Middle schooler who's season ends this week, we have a division for you. We have already had a significant number of MS wrestlers pre-register.

Cruiser, we are looking to bring about a half dozen kids down from Hilliard Heritage MS. We were hoping that there was a later time for weigh ins for the higher divisions. Wrestling doesn't start til 2:00 yet they would have to weigh in at 8-9:00 am? Any thoughts on a 12-1:00 weigh in?

We've had this question before. We will consider it agian, but ultimately, we'd love everything at once. Organization is KEY!!!

SIDE NOTE: The Buckeyes are currently 0 for 6 from the free throw line. Dude!?!?! Meanwhile, the Hawkeyes are, what 50 for 65 from THREE POINT LAND!!!!! Whatever, dude.

Anywho, my brother and I will discuss it again and I'll make it know by Friday afternoon. To be safe though, 8 to 9am on Sunday morning it is.

Would being pre registered help?

Yeah, its suppose to be a good tournament. I'm having my brother join, Zane Ayala. So remember the name. lol. But I have some questions about this tournament....
Does my brother need a singlet to wrestle or headgear? or can he wrestle without these things?
Thanks and good luck to all wrestlers,
Jon Bloss (:

Oh, JBloss...

To answer the questions... No need for headgear and no need for a singlet. However, just because he doesn't have to wear a singlet, he still has to wear SOMETHING!!!

And good luck to you tomorrow. Circle! And sprawl!!!!!!! ;)
