Interesting little stat that seems to be pretty accurate in determining playoff outcomes. In 2007 and 2008 teams ranked with a higher "DHI" went 20-2.

I don't think it's a great way to really judge an entire football team, but it has worked over the last 2 seasons, so maybe it does have some correlation with NFL playoff success.

We'll find out if Indianapolis and San Diego fail.

I agree. I think it is still too early to tell how accurate this stat will be longterm but I thought it was interesting that it "predicted" the Super Bowl winners in its first two years of existence.

I will admit that I think that Green Bay has a very good shot to go far, if not to the Super Bowl, and they are #1 on that list. I like GB a lot.

I agree on GB. I think GB and Dallas are the two best teams in the NFC right now.

As for the AFC, the Jets are the top in the DHI so... :)

It all comes down to Sanchez's play, IMO, but defensively, they can stop pretty much any team.

I really like San Diego in the AFC, despite their defense being a little suspect at times.

Bump. Looks like the index didn't fare too well with the top 2 teams but #3 and #4 are still alive.

It'll be even more interesting if Indy AND New Orleans go to the Super Bowl.

I personally think that it's going to be Indy and Minny, with Minny winning, but we'll see.

I think it's safe to say that if Minny loses, this stat can be thrown out, or at least not be reliable for judging teams as a whole.

Either way, GB, NY Jets, Philly, Baltimore and Dallas are all out after giving up quite a few points in each of their losses.
