It is my unhappy realization that it is my generation, first round Gen X'rs, who have raised such complete and utter intellectual and emotionally bankrupt morons.

Fox News had a roving reporter at a Trump protest and he asked people exactly what they disliked about Trump and most couldn't give a coherent answer... Some regurgitated talking points. Like "He hates Muslims" or he "hates women"... But all in all it would have been quite hilarious except for the fact that these people have equal vote to the most informed of voters.
Now most of you know that I am not a Trump fan at all.... But it really reiterates the assertion that pure democracy is overrated and why a representative government ... A republic... Was the wise choice of our founders. People in general vote poorly and largely uniformed.

Well, when you consider that one of the big reasons people say they support Trump is because "he's a businessman!", while apparently ignoring (or being too stupid to realize) that Mr. Businessman's filed for bankruptcy multiple times, it's safe to say that a lot of voters in general are idiots who get all their information off sound bites.

I have yet to see how Trump is actually going to cut spending. He seems to have promised fairly large expenditure projects(the wall, for one) while at the same time cutting taxes. This won't work especially if you plan on reducing the deficit, much less the national debt.

Bankrupcty is a solid business strategy though. It's not ideal but I don't think that's why Trump is a bad businessman.

Funny...same goes for his supporters. None can really explain how he'll accomplish any of his claims.

What the left and right both do not want to admit, is that Trump is just Obama on the right...except Trump is more of an asshole about it publically.

Let's take just a few items to compare:

Congress sends Trump the repeal of obamaKare: he will sign it

Trump sends senate moderate/conservative for Supreme Court (up to about 3-4 times over next 4 years): senate confirms

Congress sends Trump major corporate tax reform: he will sign it

Trump asks congress for funding to build wall or otherwise impede flow of illegals: republican congress does so

Law enforcement and border security personnel ask for administrative backup in enforcing immigration laws: Trump complies, and has their back

Trump appoints business-friendly commissioners to NLRB: congress approves them

Trump asks for certain redundant or unnecessary agencies to have funding cut or eliminated: congress approves

Republican congress crafts a budget freezing spending (or cutting it some areas): Trump signs it

Trump asks congress to bolster defense in fight against ISIS and other terror groups: congress approves

Trump tells military to return to policies and procedures that insure winning, not political correctness; military leaders applaud.

Trump tells police officers he will side with them, not with the perps; police get rejuvenated to do their jobs.


We could go on and on and on ...........but it is plainly clear that on the large important issues Trump is the exact opposite of obama and clinton, and would start to turn around the disaster we have been left with. So yes, the guy is bombastic, he mispeaks off the cuff a lot, and he rubs a lot of people the wrong way. But, when it all comes down to doing what needs to be done, you can see from above that it would get done. It is not even debatable that he would be 1000x times better than what we have, and what we would have in a clinton admin. Business, and our entire economy, cannot take any more of the radical liberal policy agenda; it will kill us.

But a lot of "what's best" is your opinion that many people have very different perspectives on. Yeah, Trump and Clinton, even Obama, will work with Congress when the agendas are aligned. But what happens when they are not - if Trump going the "dictator" route like Obama has with Exec action?

Executive actions and orders have been on the rise with every administration going back to at least Reagan. I don't see how any of these clowns will be any different.

Yeah except the math doesn't work out. You can't cut taxes and increase spending and expect the debt to go down.

Is Trump going to cut SS, Medicare, Medicard? Defense spending? No? Then he's either a liar or an idiot(or both).

Something tells me establishment Republicans will not work with Trump and that's the majority of R's in power.

Trump will get less done than Obama simply because 90% of his party doesn't want to be associated with him.
