Hilliard Porter Memorial Tourney Jan 9th
Hosted this yr by Bradley.
Who's all going?
I think I know some maybe someone else can update.

Cant remember who else. This got all screwed up last yr because the Oleantangy schools couldn't travel because of the weather even though Orange was still allowed to host their own tourney that day.

Also of note, this is the tourney where half the gym is set up for the Middle school tourney. The little guys get stoked for this one!

Coach Riggs and staff always put on a great tourney that is always smoothly run!

What happened to Teays Valley and the penalty points? Did it cost them 1st. place?

not sure about costing 1st place, but the 130 was disqualified for unneccesary roughness.

The Bowens Hughes semi final match was a great one. Very exciting 6-6 tie near the end of the third period when Bowens grabbed the pin. Great match -- fun to watch.

Yes it did. Lost 2 points would have made the difference.

Spearman beat Booth in round one lost then lost in semis to 4-3 to Branham from Miamisburg and ended up 3rd. Booth then beat teamate Valenti 10-5 before losing to Andrew Wilson from Olentangy 5-1 and did not place.

McHugh lost to Strope in semis then pinned to 3rd.

Nace lost to Regan in semis 16-5. Swavely lost 9-8 to Longwell in semis. They met up in the consolation final with Nace winning 15-3.

Hughes lost by fall to Bowens from Hilliard Darby in semis then beat Riggs 16-1 and Gadd 9-1 for 3rd.

Spearman beat Booth 3-2 as Booth had the reversal/td(i can't remember which) right at the end of the match. Ref said he didn't have control when the gun sounded.
McHugh is a stud as he had Strope beat until a late stall put it in ot where he lost.
The Bowens Hughs match was a classic going back and forth until Bowens caught him.
The Longwell Swavely match went back and forth too with Longwell pulling out a 9-8 win.

Great stuff!

The MS tourney was great as well!

Ummm... Say that again??? ;)

I received a copy of the brackets and was impressed by a few results! Bowens was one, McHugh and some other Braves stuck out.

119 entire bracket was great!
