Yeah, not an effective sectional if u ask me! Took an hour and a half after the seeding mtg to get brackets. Bout cards took an additional 10 mins before we could even start. The medina board was a tv that no one could see and they put it on the side opposite the wrestlers/coaches. The table workers did a poor job with the clocks. And to top it off, lol, the hospitality room was empty when we got there!

Lmao! But, sadly, there will be no Dent...Mifflin at Darby! In fact, much to my dismay, there will be no MIFFLIN at Darby!! Track season has officially begun for me!!!!

Agreed, Big disappointment in UA sectional - Kudos to WM and Newbie Newark - could follow all day, Marysville lagged, but eventually caught up.
Sad day when wrestling fan stuck in hospital can't see a bracket two hours after finals

Tables in front of stands instead of the opposite side where the wrestlers were.
My parents could hardly see anything.

Agree with everything posted thus far about UA Sectional. Hospitality room in afternoon was yummy though.

Yea not even posted to baumspage yet for the freaking district brackets. I can't remember a time with the past 10 years that a sectional didn't report results to baums and have "full" brackets available for viewing. Very disappointed.

Upper Arlington...why even submit a bid to host a sectional tournament if you can't/won't fulfill the duties that go along with it?

Definitely agree with you everybody on this topic, you offer a sectional gym that's too small and not ran well 2 years in a row...plz have a larger school host!!! Ant thoughts???

I say Hilliard Bradley or Darby or....... Host all 4 central district D1 sectionals at St Johns or nationwide or the Schott. Would be really cool.

Unfortunately, that's not their choice, that's something mandated by OHSAA that all locations must do. The host site runs the risk of paying a fine or some sort of punishment if they don't clear the gym and recharge for finals. I remember when we were at Madison Plains a few years back their director told us they wouldn't if they didn't have to since the brackets were small that year.

It wasn't that bad, but the wait was not good... A place I would like to see host it would be the fairgrounds. Basketball isn't using any more. Unless the quarter horse show is there I'm pretty sure it just sits empty. Heck you could have two sectionals if you really wanted too.

that would cost way to much! OHSAA wants these highschools to run the show so money can funnel right into their vacation's. You rent out the fairgrounds they would not be able to buy their margarita's on the trip (o:

To rent the coliseum, the daily rate is $3,300. That would def. disrupt OHSAA's margarita purchase. Won't see it in any of our lifetimes!!
