The mamba is in pure cold blooded assassin mode right now as that is his third buzzer beater (the rest of the NBA combined has 3 total) in a month I think to win a game, and the second time it has been a 3 to win by a point.

Sorry, the Cavs haven't really had close games to be hitting buzzer beaters ;)

Seriously though, nice shot.. But, it did look like an offensive foul with the push off then a travel when he caught the ball and took a hop before the shot.

Maybe I have to look at the play again though..

Lakers were down 20 @ the half I heard as well..

No Evans and it took a buzzer beater to beat them? Not sure what that says about either team.

I'm not a Lakers fan, I just marvel at Kobe right now as he is playing at an absurdly high level and quite possibly might be one of the most clutch players inside 2 minutes the league has ever seen.

I never thought I would see another Jordan in my lifetime as far as clutchness level was concerned but Kobe is rapidly becoming 1A to his 1 in terms of guy I would have wanted taking a shot for me to win a game.

He's a great player, but when you're blowing out opponents like the Cavs, you don't need buzzer beaters to win games. Doesn't make him a better player especially when he's a 25% "clutch" shooter, so for every 4 shots he takes he misses 3.

Also, player of the night goes to Nate Robinson. He had in 41 pts and had 8 assists and 6 boards in 38 minutes...off the bench. Knicks beat the Hawks by 4. Hope they decide to give him more playing time.
Robinson hasn't been in a game for a month. It isn't like the Knicks are rolling without him. Dantoni might want to put their differences aside and let Nate play.i

I have seen this stuff about Kobe and his terrible stats in clutch shooting a few times on here. Does anyone have solid proof from somewhere about this?

Leading scorer in the League on the best team in the NBA with the best record in the NBA even though he has been playing with a broken finger on his shooting hand and didn't have his starting center for the first 11 games and is now misiing his starting PF for 5 games.

MVP and it isn't even close.

LeBron leads in more categories that Kobe and the Cavs haven't had too many close games recently for LeBron to take the shot.

Curbstompin Houston, PHO, and your own Lakers really hasn't let LeBron show his reigning MVPness.

Like you said last year, you can have your #1 overall we'll take the trophy in June.

Let's not make this a Kobe vs LeBron thread..

Nice shot by Kobe, Lakers had no business being down 20 to Sacto.

I am not worried at all about games like this.

Sacramento went to the line up 2...4 seconds left....with a 78% FT shooter. He clanked both of them. Then Kobe throws his defender to the ground, receives the pass with his defender lying on the floor...and knocks it down.

It was a bullshit win for the Lakers and the refs ought to be suspended.

Another assinine observation from Footwedge.

Kobe was right in front of the Sac Town bench and Coach and not 1 person complained to the refs about a no call. It was a poor acting job by the Sac Town defender, instead of faking like he got pushed maybe he should have stayed on Kobe.
Oh and btw I thought you said the defender was lying on the floor???????? LMAO!!!!!!!1

players of his ability have always been able to break the rules to help their game. Kobe fouled the guy, 98% of the league would have been called for a foul..... Don't blame Kobe, blame the NBA for the way they treat their superstars.

That's a good point and another reason why the NBA is closer to pro wrestling then it is real basketball.

Every Kobe thread turns into a Lebron thread. Every Lebron thread turns into a Kobe thread. Consistent as gravity.
