Just a reminder-the Westerville Central Spring Open will take place on Sunday, March 9th! This tournament draws almost 500 wrestlers every year, and a similar great turnout is expected once again this year. However, with a split start time and six mats running all day, you can be certain that we will start on time and move quickly for both sessions. This tournament is a great tune-up for whatever state tournament your wrestler may have coming up in the next few weeks.
One unique feature of this tournament...in addition to the individual competition, there is also a team competition as well. The team that scores the most points will receive a beautiful six foot trophy! Wrestlers in both the rookie and open divisions can score points for their teams.
The Westerville Central Spring Open is truly for all wrestlers. Along with the always-competitive “Open” Youth Division (deluxe trophies to the top three), there is a Rookie Division in which only 1[SUP]st[/SUP] and 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] year wrestlers may compete. This division gives newcomers to our sport a chance to succeed against other beginners! There is also has a 13-14, 15-19, and Masters Division (for graduates), all of which were very well-attended a year ago.
