There are still undefeated Pac-12 teams out there, who could turn out to be undefeated Pac-12 champions. Oregon's loss did nothing to the chances of a 1-loss B1G team making the playoff because Oregon was basically a placeholder for "Pac-12 Champ" in the playoff picture.

So I'll say it again, the B1G champ has the exact same chance at making the playoffs right now as they did 24 hours ago.
Your logic is terrible. Pac-12 champ isn't guaranteed an auto-bid. Your "place holder" argument is about as dumb as dumb can be.

Sherm acting like the pac12 is this monster conference with a lock into the playoffs is laughable.

Probably spewing that because nd plays a few PAC 12 teams

Not saying Pac-12 is a monster. Not saying they are a lock. But I am saying that a Pac-12 champ gets the bid before the B1G champ assuming both are undefeated or both have 1-loss.

Based on? How'd the last couple Rose Bowls gone for the Pac-12? LOL

I really hope this situation plays out and the big gets in over them just so your pretentious ass is shut up.

If USC wins the Pac 12 are they getting in over a 1 loss MSU or OSU? Maybe, but those chances are smaller than a 1 loss Oregon. Therefore, Oregon losing helped.

Also, Oregon losing opens up the possibility of a 2 loss Pac 12 champ.

No matter which way you look at it, Sherm is 100% wrong in his interpretation of the basic logic involved here.

To say that Oregon losing doesn't change anything, AT ALL, is flat out wrong.

I hope Notre Dame makes the playoff and loses by 60+. Brian Kelly will more than likely have a life-time extension.

Doesn't matter. This season the B1G has zero credibility.

For starters, a 1 loss Oregon gets in over B1G but not a 2 loss Oregon. Oregon now has a lot better chance to lose 2 games than they did before yesterday. Second, it takes away another unbeaten, which undoubtedly moves the needle, even if only a little.
Thank You

Honestly, without a Big XII title game, who beats the winner of Oklahoma/Baylor? IMO, that's the weakest of the "big 5" conferences and I just don't see anyone in the league beating those teams. The best shot is likely Oklahoma State, and they play AT OU and at BAY, back to back weeks. One of those teams will go unbeaten and probably be the #1 or #2 seed, considering everyone else except maybe FSU loses at least once. All the SEC teams, Pac 12 teams and Notre Dame have a MUCH tougher road to not drop one.

I agree. I think it comes down to an undefeated Oklahoma in, with a 1-loss SEC champ, 1-loss SEC runner-up, 1-loss Pac-12 Champ, 1-loss ACC champ, and a 1-loss B1G all fighting for the last 3 spots.

I'm sorry. I just don't think a "runner up" deserves to be in a FOUR team playoff. EIGHT team? Ok. But (my OPINION), is that you should win your conference to deserve a spot. Also, tourney committee should demand Big 12 to have a champ game.

I would disagree with the first part. In a four team playoff, it's even more important to assure you have the top teams in there. It's not crazy to think that the two best teams are from one conference. In an 8 team playoff you can give each conference champ an auto-bid and fill the remaining with at-large teams (which would help to account for the two best teams coming from the same conference). But in a 4 team playoff, I think all spots are at-large. Just my opinion, though.

As for your second part, I agree 100%. Big 12 does need to have a championship game.
