I would agree. Over the last half decade or more the B1G has found itself more often than not defending itself on the national stage for a seemingly endless string of narrow wins over weak competition and embarrassing losses in high-profile games.
B1G fans know in their hearts that this is true, but they still can't help being defensive and making all sorts of excuses for the downhill slide. "Well...these things go in cycles", "The SEC is a conference of cheaters", etc.
The fact is warm weather power conferences will always attract the better talent leaving the B1G schools to fight over the "best of the rest".
And the sad thing is "the best of the rest" is basically a barely above mid-major level talent pool. This is why we're seeing some B1G schools struggle in OOC games against the MAC, C-USA, etc.
