Coach didn't mention anything of injuries, ( nor would I ) it was expected Bobo would not wrestle Hinz again as he has the win in the second week of the season and would likely not want to risk the head-head advantage at a potential seeding for sectionals. Just my thought

Were they even there? I know we had 4 guys not come to school and ended up forfeiting 5 weight classes (not that it would've changed the final outcome, lol). To just sit your 3 best guys, though, would be very strange??

The Bobo/Hinz scenario understandable however!

I'm not sure if I'd agree with not facing Hinz again for sectional seeding reasons.
theres a 75% chance he won't be in the same sectional.
i don't know Whetsones schedule but I'd venture to guess that he doesn't have too many opportunies to face the caliber of wrestlers like a Jake Hinz.
mybe it's just me but I'd want my kid to face the best competition possible.

It is what it is seems that you and coach T seem to follow the whetstone kids ALOT

All sorts of reasons why alot of the upper weights didnt wrestle, none of which will be mentioned.

The coach said that he viewed it as a match he already saw. I know coach Jones likes to see as much of the OCC as possible. The reason he does the State duals is so he can see those opponents in the OCC he normally wouldn't, when he saw that he was with westerville north who he already saw in the beginning of the season. He knew for the most part the probably of gaining something positive out of it was low. Im sure if he was placed with anyone else things might have been different. He wanted to pull from the state duals, like New Albany did but with the districts levy failing, and money tight, he sent the requirements as to not get fined and went with the situation that offered the most gain for his TEAM not for an Individual. Instead he used it as a opportunity for younger guys to see some of the best in the district and for those same young guys to exposed to wrestling outside of their own league. All of the wrestlers that wrestled last night are expected to wrestle next year. Coaches thoughts were that the younger wrestlers through attendance, willingness to go wrestle, not scared to wrestle earned the right to see what they are getting into next year. Coach was looking at it as a "if want to be the best you have to see the best" type of opportunity. Since his true varsity line up already saw them, why not get next years guys a glimpse.

That's a pretty tough team to send your JV's to wrestle, feel bad for seniors who didn't get a chance to wrestle in the state duals. Jmo

1. I follow A LOT of teams, I'm a fan of the sport as well as a coach of it.
2. Whetstone is a good city team and has some very good wrestlers.
3. To your point, Westerville North is "the best" so why not wrestle "your best"?

Good luck at city and beyond! : thumbup:

where is oney and nicola to see round two of city coachs gone wild :RpS_w00t:

why in the hell would you do to the state duals with your JV? Either put your guys you think got a shot at going the distance out there or dont go to the state duals seems kind of funny to me but what do i know just a coach. IMO you gain nothing froming having a chance to have some district level matchs before districts and passing that to your young guys WTF if you got guys that can bang let them bang but done get that kind of score put on you it only makes the league look bad and then the JV kids wresling makes it sound silly as anything.
