I'm hearing a lot of talk about Browns potentially trading Brian Hoyer and their #4 overall pick (+ either their second 1st Rd-er or a 3rd Rd pick) to Houston for Schaub and the rights to the #1 overall pick.

Thoughts?

Hoyer, #4, and 3rd rounder for Schaub and the #1 I would be ok with. Can't see Houston doing that though.

How does dead money work in the event of a trade? Schaub still has $10.5 million counting against future caps from his signing bonus. If the Texans trade him, I would imagine that they're the team on the hook for that since they paid the signing bonus up front, correct?

I'd totally take it. Get Clowney and Shaub > Hoyer + another QB

Edelman. Go get Edelman. Been saying that for months. Sign Edelman as the slot, draft a #2 to play opposite of Gordon, and this receiving corps would be nasty.

Can't mean that, because we didn't get Verner.

Ruiter is in meltdown mode saying those names have nothing to do with front office. Just a video production team. Well why would they be producing videos on those guys if they weren't interested

Don't want any part of Edleman, for the price he's gonna want.

I'm ok with the Rumored trade up above. Would give the browns the ability to draft the guy they want, all our BS'ing and QQ'ing aside, would be a smart move.

If they take a QB #1, we can afford to let him sit and learn under Schaub. I know you guys aren't big fans of Schaub, but prior to last season he was a pretty good QB, plus with his contract he's essentially here for 1 year and gone.

If we go a different position with the #1, can still take a QB later in the 1st, and let them sit.

Overall would be a good move for the team.

Not to mention that. Outside of Welker, who was able to latch on with another amazing QB.

Look at Richard Seymour, Deion Branch, Vrabel, etc.

He knows when to let people walk.
