Eh 1st round wrs don't always come in yr 1 and light it up. I don't think any of the wrs being selected in top warranted the pick IMO. Watkins was/is undersized. See if he stays healthy. Unfortunately, King isn't the only one saying this about our WR's. I love the Justin Gilbert pick but it's starting to look like Farmer should've snagged a WR with one of those earlier picks.

At some point we will get a regime that understands that you have to score points to win games. All the defense in the world isn't going to amount to a hill of beans if we can't put a reasonable number of points on the board each week.

Pettine has spent his entire career coaching on teams that have been offensively challenged. He needs to be hands off and let Shannahan do whatever the hell he wants.
Farmer needs to make something happen with the WR position. He ignored it in the draft, and didn't really bring in anything more than wish and a prayer guys in free agency.
Unless the plan is to play 2009/10 Mangini era ball where we are locked in games that are 9-6/14-13 every week. Given Pettine's track record that wouldn't surprise me, but they are going to quickly where out their welcome if they insist on boring the hell out of the fan base every week.
