TBW at #26 would be a perfect scenario, then you can take Mack at #4, if he's there.

20 days until the draft! I'm pretty excited for it. After watching several videos and clips from various Browns players, they seem to agree with a lot that's going on. When proven, successful veterans agree, I think that holds merit. Hopefully, we maximize this draft and nail some top notch players, both early and late!

You know, I've read that the Browns might be willing to take 2 QB's. What would you all think of them taking a top QB prospect at 4 or 26 (Bortles, TBW, Johnny, or Carr), and then taking Murray in the 3rd? That's an interesting scenario to me...

No. Murray sucks ass. Rather take a guy like Savagae who least has a non weak as shit arm that COULD develop into something. Also wasting a top 3 round pick on another QB after investing a top 5 pick in one is beyond an idiotic waste or resources.

I respectfully disagree. Arm talent doesn't equate to success in the NFL. Savage is a project pick. Murray doesn't have a very strong arm, but many successful QB's in the NFL have moderately powerful arms, and he has solid intangibles and accuracy. With the amount of risk surrounding the early picks, I would be more inclined to add a second QB early this year than I would in other seasons. I agree that more often than not, that would be a waste of resources. However, with our abundance of picks, 7 in the first 4 rounds, I could see them grabbing a second QB to come in and compete.

I don't care what they do or who they take as long as the picks turn out. Having Hoyer is at least reason enough to draft one guy early and one late to serve as a 3rd stringer.

If we spend a #4 pick on the qb he's the starter for next 2 seasons minimum. So hoyer, rookie, and a project like savage for long term. Murray can gfh. How do you not get that? I'm glad you're not the gm.

To me that would be an admission that they lack confidence in their player evaluation ability.

Lol... take it easy. No need to get your panties in a bunch. I'm simply creating some discussion around here since it's been pretty dead. Where did I ever say that is what I would do? I simply said that it's an interesting scenario that I have read about and heard discussed. My gosh, you're edgy...

As for this comment, I could see why you might think that. It also could be viewed as hedging your bets. Not saying I'm for or against it, but say they draft a guy like Manziel who has a large "boom or bust" factor, I could see them considering this option if there's a guy later that they want.

You'll have to excuse COA. When he feels strongly about something he is a gigantic dick.

If you draft a QB in the 1st rd, and then take another in the 3rd. You're most definitely setting yourself up for QB controversy, and IMO you'll have your #1 guy looking over his shoulder after every mistake.

I could 5th or later on a project, or maybe early 4th if one of the top QB's slide, much like the Eagles did with Matt Barkley last year even though had Vick/Foles.

Wait a second, isn't that similar to what the Seahawks did when they paid Matt Flynn a boatload as a free agent and then draft Russell Wilson? That turned out horribly for them...

I also saw Draft Day tonight. My wife and I enjoyed it. Pretty realistic in a lot of areas (aside from the trades).

How far can JFF drop past the browns before it's not a bad decision they passed?

Well one is a FA, and the other was a draft pick. In FA all they lost is money, in terms of the draft they basically would've wasted a pick. Similar to how Cleveland wasted a pick on T-Rich/Weeden.

If they have any plans of taking a QB in the 2nd-4th rd, for the best of the team you cannot take a QB at #4. Too much high end talent on the board mainly you'd be passing on one of the 4 Blue Chippers in the draft (Clowney, Mack, Robinson, Watkins)

Also, back to to Flynn/Wilson. Flynn was only guaranteed $10m, where as the #4 pick would be guaranteed $20-25m. A lot to pay for a backup QB, or a 1 year rental.

In 5 years when we can formulate an actual opinion based on JFF's play.

Slipping in the draft doesn't really mean much. Aaron Rodgers slipped and Brady Quinn slipped.

JF will not go lower than first five picks. In fact, don't be surprised if a sleeper team...say Cincinnati go all Washington Redskins and bundle up a package to land Football. Replacing Dalton with Manziel is all Cincinnati needs to win it all. Other teams to watch would include Minnesota and Tampa Bay. People in the know understand that his upside is just as good as what RG3 was projected...if not higher.

Personally, I think the Texans ruin it all by drafting him. They would be idiots not to.

Lol... you keep using "people in the know," and yet everything I've read says that "people in the know" are saying that Johnny Football is going to fall on draft day. The Texans are taking Clowney. That's as close to a done deal as there is in this year's draft. I'm of the opinion that Manziel is going to fall until the late first round, although I wouldn't be surprised for a team like Minnesota or Tampa Bay to snag him trying to bring some excitement to their organization.

Browns are going to work out manziel privately at college station.

I wonder if iggy and fw will shut the fuck up now about not attending his pro day?
